MythTV deinterlace problems on VIA ?!
« on: August 27, 2008, 09:12:03 pm »
I'm having trouble watching live tv with Myth on my Zonbu-desktop MD. I've been googeling around reading on some myth forums (and posting) but can't find/get any solutions. From reading other descriptions is sounds like a deinterlacing problem....

Myth Live TV is showing me a green image with vertical stripes (see: screencap). Recorded tv is shows correctly in the little preview window in Myth > Media Library, but when played: same problem (other video files are shown correctly in LinuxMCE btw). I've had all deinterlace types in the Myth frontend but none work.

Maybe usefull details:
Core: Dualcore Xeon / Hauppauge PVR-150
MD: Zonbu-desktop (details)
Location: Holland / PAL-BG signal
Screen: Dell 2407WFP 24" Widescreen
Orbiter: UI1

Any guess more then welcome at this stage!
Jester.

That's what my VIA based machine in the master-bedroom was doing. My office VIA machine worked ok in UI1, but the video would pause way too much for my liking.

Once again, this wiki page may help you out some:

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Display_Drivers

There are two ways to install the Openchrome video drivers mentioned there. Try them and see what happens

Hi Freymann,

Have you seen my screencap... ?! It would be great if you have the same problems.... crap really, but then it would not only be me struggling with this.

BTW today i noticed that besides the vertical stripes and green colour, liveTV is actually showing only part of the whole screen. A big part is cut off at the right side. I don't know what screen you use, but wouldn't this have something to do with using a wide-screen?!

I'm using the UniChrome drivers btw.
