SuSe / RPM support version
« on: June 28, 2008, 12:23:57 am »
Hi

I have read a good deal of material on this system and fully understand that LinuxMCE is aimed at KUbuntu..  Has anyone assessed what would need to be done or actually built a SuSE / RPM version of LinuxMCE?  Please understand, I fully appreciate and respect the work that has been done to support the Ubuntu system.  It just happens that there are a good stack of SuSe / RPM based machines, a lot of them running MyTH and I am wondering if anyone has started an RPM version.

Thank you

Long and short of it, Yes, it has been brought up MANY MANY times.

The original source from Pluto was debian based, but had a very customized kernel.
It took Paul Webber 2 years to port that version to kubuntu... which is also debian based.

If you want to attempt it, we'll help you out where we can.  Be aware the code base is *HUGE*.

The only intuitive interface is the nipple.  After that it's all learned.
My other computer is your windows box.
I'm out of my mind.  Back in 5 minutes.
