I don't seem to be able to find out anything about LMCE's support for e-mail.

The user set up screen mentions it and that seems to be about it. No mail server is installed with LMCE and no way of getting externally hosted mail seems to exist.

Is this true or am I missing something?

Just a guess, but you could use web mail via the Compute menu.  Or you could open the KDE desktop and use Kmail, Thunderbird, etc.  Personally, I want a real keyboard and email client (thunderbird) so don't use the core/hybrid for email.

but, if you go with the gyro mouse/remote keyboard from gyration (which I picked up for less than the price of the fiire remote) it is easy to use the computing section of LMCE....

I fire up a CD, click over to computing and use email and the web....with no problems

Thanks for the replies guys.

I was think more along the lines of LMCE telling a user how many messages they have waiting and listing the headers.  I thought that's what the number along side the "presence" buttons for each user was about but I'm realising that's probably for voicemail.

I wish that lmce had a built in email server so it could send email notifications of security breaches and such. Like if my wife puts in a porno or something I could get an email telling me when and the title.
