I'm going to buy a security panel and a hvac controller in the next week or twoand I'm trying to make sure I get the right ones. I've looked through the wiki and so far...

Security Panels along with costs:
Apex Destiny 6100 - $357 - http://www.internet-security-inc.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=474874
Caddx NX-8E -  $149 - http://e-zsecurity.net/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=10032
Elk M1 Gold - ~$400 plus extras

Obviously in that group the best option for me is the Caddx NX-8E - has wireless and wired support and supports enough zones for my needs. The wiki http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Caddx_NX-8E on the Caddx doesn't show that it has been fully integrated, but it has been fully integrated in Misterhouse. I figure I can always fall back to the misterhouse connector script if i have to.

HVAC controllers/thermostats:
Serial
RCS TS40 - $269 - asishome.com
RCS TS16 - $199 - asishome.com

Zwave:
RCS TZ16 - $250 - asishome.com
RCS TZ40 - $319 - asishome.com

Insteon:
Insteon Remote Control Thermostat http://www.smarthome.com/2491t1.html - available for purchase on 2/15 may be a good choice - still researching

There isn't really a supported hvac system for mce so I thought I'd do some research. Anyone else have some good choices that I'm missing here or care to weigh in on any of these products and how they work with linuxmce?
