Hello,

there is new System out, called Homematic (www.homematic.com). It is bi-directoral and the sytem-unit is based on an embedded linux.
There are allready some opensource-downloads available in the service-area.
For WindowsMCE is a plugin available. :-\
From my perspective it should be possible to connect this to LMCE too.

this is the "long awaited" product line from ELV. Was promised for last year..

do you have any control specifications? I can't find them on the page.
Do you already have some hardware?

best regards,
Hari

Hi Hari,

last week i ordered the HVAC-Set with wall-mounted controll and "Stellantrieb" (do not know the english word...)
I want to order the central-unit CCU within the next two months. I hope that the manuals will be published soon, so that I can understand whats in the packages in the Update-Area of the homepage (in the service-area).
There is a forum in german language at http://www.fhz-forum.de/viewforum.php?f=19

If only I could read the URL - is there an English version available to view - I am in the Home Control business - touch screens / apps written under Linux and now building Linux MCE's and apps. This product looks interesting - RF - what frequency?

Stojan

Hi,

homematic works with the same frequency like many other RF-Equipment in europe - 868 Mhz.
The only information in english language seems to be the pdf-Document on their homepage, that comes up, when you click on the union jack in the upper right corner.

I think "Stellantrieb" is German for "actuator" in English.

Likewise, Google can translate that German page into English.

ELV is a big german store like radioshack. Homematic uses their newly developed BiDCoS (did i get that right?). The protocol itself is not open. Maybe you can interface with the HomeMatic CCU (Central Control Unit) but that unit alone is at about ~500€ (http://www.preisroboter.de/ergebnis6962323.html). There are plenty of devices from ELV. If you need any german translation just drop me a line.

Hi,

Hari, you are totally right. BidCoS is the protocoll they (eQ-3 is the company behind Homematic, FS20, FHT 80 etc.) are using.
I agree, that the best way to interface LMCE to Homematic is the CCU that is based on Linux.
There are allready two software-products that can connect to the CCU
- Homeputer from contronics and
- MCE-Control

Homeputer uses PHP-Script, I don´t know about MCE-Control
I am waiting for the CCU-Documentation coming in the next week (that is what eQ-3 announced) to get more information about the integrated web-services and how to connect to the CCU.

BTW, I got the best price for my Homematic-equipment at the eHome-Store http://www.cesanet.de/Funk-System-HomeMatic.htm?shop=shop&SessionId=0168xa494936ded6c1db075529454f65aa89b&a=catalog&t=1598&c=1598&p=1598
