Anybody tried AVerTV Duo Hybrid PCI-E Yet?
« on: January 12, 2008, 03:08:50 am »

I was originally trying to get the 777 but it's not available any longer.

The AVerTV Duo Hybrid PCI-E is the new model out and seems quite popular on some windoze media center boards.....

Just wondering if it's compatible with Linux or not...  can't find any references to it yet, but it's fairly new so to be expected.

If you want to check whether a DVB card or other related bit of hardware is supported then the best place to look is here http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/

As you can see in the DVB PC-ie section of the LinuxTV wiki it does not appear to be supported yet... its just too new http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-T_PCIe_Cards

However the DViCo FusionHDTV looks like its working now http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DViCO_FusionHDTV_DVB-T_Dual_Express **see the link at the top of the page

Hope this helps you

Yep saw that thanks... but was hoping that somebody had experimented with the new card and could say if it worked or not.

Not really prepared to shell out for a card that may never work.. especially when I need a new PC to make it work anyway.

For now I'll have to be TV less :(

As far as I can see the DVB-T side of the card is working fine now... look here http://www.itee.uq.edu.au/~chrisp/Linux-DVB/DVICO/
