I am new to mythtv...I do not know diddly squat about linux.......my mom wants me to build a media center for her....I pretty much know what I want as for as for hardware...however, the software aspect of it is daunting..you have sage,beyondtv, media portal etc etc...hence why i am here.....I like mythtv...it is what i am looking for.....well lets get to reality...my mom will be using it...does she has to know linux...because she still cannot program her VCR...is mythtv right for her?Thanks.

As for LinuxMCE, it is a lot more than MythTV. It also controls every aspect of your house. I would suggest watching the demonstration video linked to from the main site, first...to see if the wide feature set of LinuxMCE (and Pluto) are what you want, or if you want to just install a  pure MythTV based environment.
