Help!, system locks up on install

Im hoping someone can help with this problem.

When running the install off the quick install dvd, all goes fine till it asks me which HDD to use. There is only one option (using one HDD) so I key in '1' and press enter and it just sits there, and doesnt actually start making the file system, as if it cant access the disk or something?

Anyone got any ideas
