Sorry guys, I'm very new to Linux, but..
I noticed that the ability to add/remove programs (both the ways I had found how to do it) disappeared when I installed the release candidate.
So... How do I uninstall LinuxMCE, or do I need to do fresh install of Kubuntu AND the forthcoming release?

I have also wondered about how to install other programs in kubuntu after RC1. Do we have to use apt-get if we want i.e. another browser?

I tried apt-get as well, but could not get it to work either (then again, as i said I am new to this and may have messed up something).
I wanted to install a "share browser" to easily mount network shares in Kubuntu so that LMCE would see them without acting as a DHCP server.

I have the same problem -- the Adept manager and "Add & Remove program" disappear from the menus. I believe this is a bug as a result of instally RC1. Does anyone know if some modules got uninstall and fail to reinstall?

In RC1 and the eventual linuxmce-0704 release version Adept has been removed and all updates etc are handled directly by linuxmce. I think this is a temporary solution to the problem of the automatic Ubuntu software update mechanism breaking some of the functionality inside linuxmce by updating packages behind lmce's back.

You can still use apt from the console though and you can change the sources.list if you need to.

Is there a way to turn off the update instead of removing the adept modules? It is nice to use adept as it allows you to search module description and other nice things.
