booting 1604
« on: August 18, 2016, 03:40:22 am »
Hi guys just to let you know I keep on getting errors when booting the 2 latest 1604 installation dvds
The very first error I get is unable to mount sda5 due to geometry

"Bad geometry: block count 120019712  exceeds size of device (256 blocks)
...
Mounting /dev/sda5 on /cdrom failed: invalid argument
It also fails to create the ssl certificate unfortunately I wasn't able to capture a photo of any more failures, login service was one of them
After it has finished "loading" it's finishes on cli login
Md5 and ram checks out
If i can figure out how to add a photo from my phone to the post I'll put in a screen shot
Thanks mat
Now to figure out why I can't even get a grub screen for 1004!
Ps what's with this verification thing? I have to press for a new image at least 10 times just to get one that's readable! Each time!

Hello maxiecool,

1604 isn't ready yet thee are upstream bugs that need's to ben solved on that road.

We reccommend to install 1404 for most People. The problem you describe for 1004 i neer had.

With kind regels Alblasco1702.

The verification is due to spamming, it goes away after making a few posts.

And as Alblasco points out 1604 has a couple of bugs that prevent daily use atm.  And due to new boot methodologies we may need to alter our dvd creation.  Net install for 1604 can be accomplished.
