30-Jun 1404 29172 loops on AVWizard

Tried this out.

When setting up initial screen resolution HDMI/1080p/60hz, on Continue, system generates tons of system udev-failed to execute lib/udev/socket:@/org/freedesktop/hal/udev_event no such file or directory messages.

Loops back to AVWizard screen - no escape.

Thanks for testing!  Unfortunately there is no hald running on 1404.  These errors will not go away until that can be fixed.    1404 is really on hold until we build something new, or de-bug why hald doesn't stay running on 1404... or if it is even possible.

I see the same issue in 14.04... I did some googling.. found this and tried it..

https://launchpad.net/~mjblenner/+archive/ubuntu/ppa-hal

hal appears to stay running.
