Solved: Dianemo S: Sony IP Control Remote
« on: October 11, 2012, 06:24:35 pm »
I'd followed the wiki on how to setup sony ip control.....Quite simple (expect i had to manually input the ip and mac adress)
I did a router reload.
Beside that, is there anything which should happend? (scenario setup etc?) Only thing i can see is, that the device template #2021 is added under CORE

did i miss s.th.?

Did you 'Register' with your TV as an IP remote? See the last step in the Wiki entry for setting up IP control of a Sony SmartTV.

Andrew,

exept your steps in the wiki, do i have to put in some else , like ip and mac adress?
what steps are next, after successfully registered with the tv?
How can i send commands to the tv? (the only one i see is "register")
Do i have to worry about the log in the post above?

See the updated Wiki entry here; http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Dianemo_S#Configuring_IP_Controllable_TV.27s_.26_BluRay_Players

Set your Orbiter to the Room its in and use your Orbiter to control it... as you would any other device.

All the best

Andrew,

uplink helped me to setup the sony as a external source.
That was not done automatically when i followed your wiki.

So for now it is working, but maybe wiki has to be updated with the steps to go.

That Wiki entry only covers the control of the IP TV or BluRay not the switching of an External source. Another section is being worked on for the configuration of external sources.

OK, i understand. But what is the purpose of adding this - as you have written on the wiki - what can i "do" with it, as it does not show up anywhere and the only "command" i can send is register?

Please clarify....thansk alot
