Lost Sound
« on: October 07, 2012, 05:10:08 pm »
Seems I may have broke something on my hybrid/core.  :(

I installed qbittorrent yesterday and now I no longer have sound on my hybrid/core. I have sound at the AV wizard and all the alsa outputs are fine and alsa mixer is unmuted. When i play a video I have nothing.

Any thoughts

If this is a 1004 install, I have been breaking audio for a few weeks for certain chipsets. If you upgraded during this process, I am probably to blame. I have just submitted code which should fix everything for everyone, IF indeed I am the cause of your particular issue.

I have also fixed ac3 passthrough/surround sound for everything as well.

So, again, if this is 1004, have a little patience... a new set of packages is being built today... then just upgrade when they are ready. http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/LinuxMCE-1004_beta
I never quit... I just ping out.

So my upgrades are working but something else is now awry. You can try this batch and see if it solves your issues, but if not do not lose heart, more changes will appear in a day or so.

Thanks for the reply.

I installed the latest snapshot and it seems to be working ok. I now have to just fix my media raid and all will be good.

I really need a development machine.

Keep up the great work!
