Users / Admin Site Issues
« on: September 23, 2013, 07:34:23 pm »
Now I did not mess things up this time, but before going to do a next re-install, have to ask.

My admin site not working as before, for example, under devices, if i click on Orbitors, nothing shows in the right hand window, same for Media directors, actually all links under Devices heading, the links under Basic Info, work though.

Is there a way to fix this, not seeing any generated log under /var/log/pluto or I am looking in the wrong place.

Even did an apt-get update and apt-get upgrade, just in case, no luck

Decided to create and MD using a machine my sons use, went through Sara assigned to the room, but was not able to configure the inputs the cable box was connected through Sara on the tv, had to checked what I did in the Web Admin was still there and it was all.

Choosing the scenario for the cable box, it worked, switched the TV to the input the box connected to and a remote on the orbitors, to change the channels, not crashing or what seem to be trying to load mythtv.

Tested with the MD off and it still works

I edited the template, and choose livetv, but unfortunately no luck, had tried this before doing the re-install

It seems to be trying to start Mythtv_Player, not to sure why, as I specify the box connected directly to the TV

Users / Not switching To Tv and CableBox
« on: September 20, 2013, 04:43:42 am »
I added a tv to a room, which only has a cable box at present. Added the cable box and did the Connection Wizard under AV Equipment, showing how the inputs are connected. Did a reload router and regen orbitors; it asked me.

If I click on the scenario, which shows for the cable box I add for that room, the system seems to do another reload, when done, the WebOrbitor no longer connecting, the tv does not come on, nor inputs switched, nothing happens but what seems like a reload

This is the error I am seeing for that time in the DCERouter.log

I rebuilt the core, just thinking I messed things up and still getting this issue, any pointers.

The scenario for the box shows up as CableRadioDirectv1, did live before install, same issue

I have a new disk should I let LNMCE add it and configure?

If I decide to remove and upgrade, plan to mirror that disk, can the added disk be deleted?

Or, should I not let LNMCE manage the disk, add and mount it manually under videos and when I get the second disk and mirror it (have a 4 port raid card that does hardware mirroring), then let LNMCE manage it?

Cool thanks, I am tracking down, going to see if I can reach out on there forum.

In goggling  I found a recommendation to try Serviio from someone, it even have an API and all for controlling it. I am awaiting to exhaust all options before deciding it break, it cannot be as bad as pulling teeth and the thoughts put into, found the link below

Thanks, now got some time.

Fortunately my devices play mkv natively, a WD HD live and a PI running XBMC, thus was really trying to get Cover Art info to show, after getting the mkv to list.

Going to look into Virtual Box and then the dev env, to see if I can get the data into mediatomb database that LNMCE has.

In querying the database, I realize the data is stored as a blob, trying to find the structure of that blob, whether XML etc, maybe I can just enter the data myself from LNMCE listing.

On a side not, not sure if it worked, a query showed data in the metadata field, only for the mkv though, so maybe I getting some luck

l3mce - See information requested, was a bit occupied

linuxmce@dcerouter:~$ lspci -nn | grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation GF108 [GeForce GT 430] [10de:0de1] (rev a1)

Also I did re-run the avwizard and no luck.

I had and old machine lying around, used it as an MD, with GT 520 in it, which installed the nvidia current and I got the same resolution to large, set it to 720 p and it was fine, this machine installed alsa 24, well that what the mixer said. Had to upgrade the kernel as the core to get audio over hdmi.

I had a GT 430 with no sound, but got video, maybe you can look at the following link that was posted for me to try

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/1004_Video_Hardware_Compatibility_List

Its seems after upgrading your kernel, you may also need to install the latest nvidia drivers,

/usr/pluto/bin/Stop_X.sh
add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
apt-get update
apt-get install -y nvidia-current

Also Alsa

add-apt-repository ppa:team-iquik/alsa
apt-get update
apt-get install -y alsa-base
apt-get install -y alsa-utils

I hope you do not mind my comment, but that is a lot of oomph for a HTPC, plenty current draw, nice card to game on though :)

I went ahead, would these below, class for troublesome packages and should be removed

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  libpcre3-dev: Depends: libpcre3 (= 7.8-3build1) but 8.12-1yavdr1 is to be installed
Depends: libpcrecpp0 (= 7.8-3build1) but 8.12-1yavdr1 is to be installed
  libxine-dev: Depends: libxine2 (= 1.2.0~hg20111226.0300-0yavdr0~lucid) but 1.2.1.git20120214-0yavdr2~lucid is to be installed

Also most packages said there were at the latest version, a few also said the following

Quote
x11proto-core-dev is already the newest version.
x11proto-core-dev set to manually installed.
x11proto-xext-dev is already the newest version.

I also tried installing libtag1-dev and libmp4v2-dev, based on mediatomb forum.

I dropped the database again, reboot and am now seeing some information under the column metadata, have to check on my upnp device to see what changed.
