Installation issues / 12.04 Web Admin Firewall
« on: February 25, 2016, 05:40:47 pm »
Hello,

I recently did a fresh install of 12.04 and cannot seem to get the web admin to make any changes to the firewall. It looks like this might have been an issue in the past but looked like it was resolved. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

Jim

Developers / Raspberry Pi MD Flirc

I saw where there might have been an attempt to get this integrated. Is there an update on this? Has anyone attempted this on the RPi? Looks like a cheaper more compact device compared to the USB UIRT.

Here's a link

Hello, has Generic Serial Device been built for the Raspberry MD? Doesn't seem to be loading it when I add a device. By the way great job on this!!! Starts up and runs fine. Video and sound. Thanks to everyone with that effort!

Users / Greenhouse MD
« on: March 24, 2013, 06:54:32 pm »
Hello,

I'm looking to put a MD in my greenhouse to work the automation in there. I would be attaching several serial and onewire devices. I'm thinking of a small form factor board with low heat emission, as I would probably be putting it in a NEMA4 enclosure for moisture, usb connection/s to connect peripherals, internet adaptor with wifi (wifi or both could be separate), low power, and it have some kind memory flash or otherwise. I know there was some work on the raspberry PI but I'm not sure where that is or if that could work. Has anybody else done something similar or have any ideas?

Thanks as always

Jim

Developers / [Solved] Device Spawning
« on: February 22, 2013, 02:14:41 am »
Hello,

I created a device template I wrote in c++. This is my 1st venture with c++ so I'm just starting out there (and I don't think I'll ever get my head fully around pointers). That said the program works fine. I can start the device from a terminal using "Spawn_Device.sh" and the device runs as expected. My problem is I cannot get the device to spawn on its own. I even wrote a pnp script to see if that worked (and that was... interesting). The device template loaded correctly but did not start, even after several reloads and reboots. So while I usually enjoy delving deeper into lmce to see why it works and why not, this ones getting me. Any insite as to why this would be?

Thanks
Jim

Developers / Virtual Sound Cards
« on: November 28, 2012, 04:31:37 am »
Hello,

Following L3mce's suggestion I took a look at the most recent version of SetupAudioVideo.sh and noticed some big changes notably a Virtual Sound Card function. he mentioned Radu was working on this. I am working on improving squeezeslave and this appears to be pointed in that direction. I looked at the device templates and the 2223 template does not look like what the code would be looking for so I'm thinking this is still under development. Any word on where this stands? Anything I can do to help? My knowledge of bash in limited but growing.

Developers / Building From Source
« on: November 20, 2012, 10:30:46 pm »
Hello,

Trying to setup build environment. I am following the wiki. My setup is on a VM. I am looking at all the scripts and such to see what is going on but I'm running into problems. I'm sure there is something I'm missing.

When I run
Code: [Select]
/install-build-pkgs.shI end up with an error
Code: [Select]
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libxine-dev: Depends: libxine2 (=1.2.0~hg20111226.0300-0yavdr0~lucid) but it is not going to be installed

I'm learning this as I go so bear with me.
Thanks

Installation issues / Sandy Bridge Sound Only Not Working
« on: November 06, 2012, 11:47:58 pm »
There is an issue with sandy bridge boards using a video card and the native sound not working.

I have been resolving this by building a new Alsa driver 1.0.25.

Users / Startech ICUSBAUDIOB
« on: October 26, 2012, 06:21:33 pm »
Hi

Anybody have any experience with the Startech ICUSBAUDIOB audio device? I got one that was dead on arrival. Nothing shows up on lsusb and dmesg | grep USB shows
Code: [Select]
[  205.776071] usb 3-2: new full speed USB device number 3 using xhci_hcd
[  206.295284] usb 3-2: new full speed USB device number 4 using xhci_hcd
[  206.814525] usb 3-2: new full speed USB device number 5 using xhci_hcd
[  207.333741] usb 3-2: new full speed USB device number 6 using xhci_hcd
[  207.741171] hub 3-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2

Should at least give me a vendor:pciid right?

I just don't want to waste my time exchanging this and having them die.
Using it for multiple zone audio with squeezeslave. They are very cheap $13US on newegg.

Thanks

Installation issues / [Solved] Failed to set up x on media director
« on: October 21, 2012, 05:16:15 pm »
Ok I've run out of ideas here. I'm trying to setup a new media director and getting the dreaded "Failed To Setup X". There is no xorg.conf in /etc/X11 but there is a xorg.conf.pluto.avwizard. I've tried creating my own xorg.conf and deleting all the xorgs. No go.

Hardware on the MD is ASRock A55M-HVS, AMD A6, ASUS GT218 GeForce 8400 GS. All of this I guessed as compatible. I have had success in the past with the 8400. For
Code: [Select]
lsmod | grep nvidia I get nothing.
Code: [Select]
cat /proc/driver shows no such file or directory. Tried to install driver but cannot kill X.

So now I'm stuck. I just want to know if it's a compatibility issue or me as my bag of tricks is quite limited.

One thing to note if I remove the video card and go with the onboard "even HDMI" it works fine just not good enough. Also will not start AVWizard with that.

Thanks

Users / Lost Sound
« on: October 07, 2012, 05:10:08 pm »
Seems I may have broke something on my hybrid/core.  :(

I installed qbittorrent yesterday and now I no longer have sound on my hybrid/core. I have sound at the AV wizard and all the alsa outputs are fine and alsa mixer is unmuted. When i play a video I have nothing.

Any thoughts

Anyone have a problem with this hardware and buffer overrunning?

I've switched from CM15A to insteon and noticed the code has issues with X10. I'm adding patches for my devices and noticed the unit crashing sporadically. I chased it down to the unit not clearing its buffer after sending its string to DCE and just adding it all up. Just want to make sure It's not me. Or not just me. This may be limited to X10 commands.

Developers / Ruby Serial Help
« on: September 06, 2012, 03:02:50 am »
Hello,

I'm trying to send information to GSD hardware attached to a COM port in raw byte format.

Like conn_.Send(0x44 0x00 0x01)
So the hardware receives just those bytes. I'm trying to keep this in Ruby but not sure if it will work.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Installation issues / CM15A Not Working
« on: August 31, 2012, 03:35:41 pm »
Hello,

I'm trying to get my CM15A working in LMCE 10.04.

The hardware does work in Active Home Pro.
It installs fine. Looking at the device log I get:

Code: [Select]

It also fails to send commands.
I'm using now the 8/20 snapshot.
My hardware is asus pc8h77-v le mobo with i5.

A quick look and it appears that it is not initialising. Before I dig much more I thought I would check here to see if someone knows what's going on.

Thanks
