fell for that one as well.......spent the whole day reinstalling then working out how to downgrade mythtv back to 0.22 once I did that all working again. Just have to learn how to fully use mythtv........it was Mavericks post that got things back on track.......... let me say I wont be doing a apt-get dist-upgrade in the near future after losing a day and having to go through all that pain again.

thanks...........just frustrated after everything was working before I added the hd homerun then someone suggested to do a apt-get update & upgrade and that's when it turned to custard now I cant even get another md to to boot up...........problem is running out of internet as everytime I do a reinstall it's soaking up so much of my allowable downloads and if I go over I get throttled back to 64k which is no good if you have to put up with that for nearly a month. Still reseaching and trying different things but just cant get anywhere........will jump back on irc and see if I have any luck.........like wise if I end up fixing I will post and thanks for your support...............best of luck as well

After trashing my core and also going out and spending $200 to buy a HD Homerun, I have reinstalled 810 b2 only to find myth tv now does not work....is this a current bug do I have to downgrade myth to get the hd homerun working here in Australia. I have only done a apt-get update & upgrade is there anything I am missing here it can't be that hard.
The hd homerun has been detected and then I go to the computing page and there is no myth setup, also if I click on TV on a orbiter all the boxes go black and then you get the blue screen of death saying myth frontend has died any help would be much appreciated before the lot ends up on the front lawn

Excellent advice..........can you confirm that I should do this on some sort of regular basis to the core/hybrid and if that is so , then do I need to the same thing to each of my  md's

thanks much appreciated feedback.

I have just done fresh install and have only done apt-get update on the core/hybrid, so should I do apt-get dist-upgrade as well and the other question should I do both of those commands on my other md.

And lastly I do both of these commands on the core/hybrid and md's on a regular basis

Maverick
Can you please confirm the correct procedure for keeping everything up to date, there are so many posts I am not sure that I am doing the right thing, so far I have gone to a terminal window in KDE desktop at the core/hybrid and also at each md and typed in apt-get update is this correct or can I do it from a orbiter in advanced where it says force upgrade now

Not having much luck lately either I am a complete numb nuts or I am missing something
Can anybody can help with two problems which I believe are related, I have a core/hybrid & 2 x md's. From the core I can make external VOIP calls (only testing at the moment just to see if it rings out will get to the voice part after I fix this problem) but when I try the other md's it just gives me the calling screen and never makes the actual call, I think somehow this is related to the fact that also cant make intercom or direct dial calls from either the core/hybrid to a md or md to md, I see the the call come up on the orbiter but it drops the call almost straight away

I have ssh into the core and done a sip show peers and I can see that the host for one of the md is unspecified but thats about as far as I go

dcerouter*CLI> sip show peers
Name/username              Host            Dyn Nat ACL Port     Status
pennytel/8889233285        202.85.243.87        N      5060     Unmonitored
203/203                    (Unspecified)    D   N      0        UNKNOWN
200/200                    192.168.80.1     D   N      5061     OK (7 ms)
3 sip peers [Monitored: 1 online, 1 offline Unmonitored: 1 online, 0 offline]

Tearing out what hair I have left

Hi
Great advice and help
Though i still can't get Pennytel Aust to work, it's registered and I believe I have followed your advanced instructions of modifying the outgoing rules but when I dial it just says calling and never connects

Cheers
