also is dual boot a posiblity with the 366 have ce remain with a grub to choose boot orbiter or win ce?

 Missed a step its working perfect now
missed the network settings in admin for the eth0 change to eth1 under device tree
thanks for the help Thom now have net access on the windows pc's and is picking up all my devices fine  

i just hate to give up

 Thanks Thom removed and reinserted the card an now it shows and entery in the 70-persistent-net.rules
would lite up when eth cable was insterted didnt think faulty install

followed the instructions http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Single_to_Double_NIC
for switching from single to double Nic

when changing etc/network/interfaces from eth0:1 to 1 reboot and it just changes back
still learning linux myself where would i find kunbuntu's device list or control panel? to make a final check the card is properly installed

Installation issues / [Solved] internal network ETH0:1 ?

8.10 beta
2 network cards both identical
External is on eth0
but internal is showing eth0:1
as is will not comunicate on internal network with any of my devices (windows pc, DNS-321, MD diskless boot
had a similer issue before som time ago but just whent to etc/udev/70-persistent-net.rules and change there the eth0:1 to eth0 but now it seems different could be because last time had this problem was alpha
it dosnt show the 2 interfaces as i remeber it did in alpha only the eth0

i then whent to etc/network/interfaces and changed eth0:1 to eth1 i then lost access to webadmin and internet on the core so that was a step in wrong direction i then changed back and am back to square 1 no internet or communication on internal network

im not shure i didnt even alter my .list the problem just stopped. dont even know if the errors showed the last time when it worked but its now current update 2/23/2010
i just tried for a 6-8th time lost count and it finaly updated?

O.o very odd got home from work and checked post and decided to give one more try
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

problem is gone it updated just fine now its feb 23 version not shure why it failed other 6-8 times perhaps a bad weekend to try to update?

Have run both commands
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
 but i cant get it to install or upgrade to latest version

had previous machine with 810 alpha install kubuntu 810 net install linuxmce and would install latest

now im tring 810 beta and its not installing latest nor will it upgrade im getting jan 16th version

both installs work from dvd and internet install

IE No Hulu

im running 2.31 and want to upgrade to 2.34 but dont know the proper process do i shut down mce and just do the normal latest release install. dose this overwrite my media? is there a guide.

Found source of problems the HDD was defective. Replaced with new drive reinstall and works like a charm MD boot fine now and plug and play  the drive must have been dropped in shipping. or was just faulty.
thankyou for the mount suggestion. ran hdd tests and noticed the drive was the cause.

lots of failed to download and crawling download however im on a slow sat internet connection and somtimes it can be buggy. 5 months till fiber ....... fingers crossed.
