Hmm i'm pretty sure i see a .deb to download on the audiotrigger page, not sure you can even install that in windooooze  ;) seems like a debian type install to me....... you can also download the tarball and use that code to make a device.

This audiotrigger is a linux project and you can set the sound levels, you could use this to create a device and directly create a trigger, because this would act as a sensor and could use any microphone in your house, all security cameras normally have sound on them nowadays, so i see the possibilities also for security, i do think this would be more suited than placing a phone that will ring an extension that in place has to trigger an event".

There are many projects out there that can create an event from sound, maybe you can work up a dce device, it would also be a start for control by sound. The sound can come from any device, but a well placed microphone like the Solo might be best for baby monitoring.

here is a sample project i found, since i have 2 grand baby's now, i was interested in this also.

Some screenshots for the one's that want to see this. Unfortunately i could not get a screencast to show video on playback.

All praise to coley to start this off.

This is the main menu, it's like a wheel that you can drag around

Here are more menu items

Clicking the top bar opens it, just like current smart phones do

Lighting and contact do nothing yet, but clicking Music gives the front album art

Now if you click on this album art, the picture rotates vertically 180 degree so you can see the back of the album.
The list on the right is scrollable, just click and drag to see all titles

Clicking the Video menu button gives a list that is scrollable top to bottom, click and drag

Hvac menu gives two sliding bars to adjust temperature

Webadmin button, pulls up webadmin, i could put in my username and pass and get to the main screen as shown

That's it, i'll try again to make a screencast of it working, not sure what makes it a transparent video after capture.

Very nice Coley although you'll say it's not much, it's a step in the right direction.

Search the wiki for the touchscreen part to work, might need a little tweaking.

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Special:Search?search=touchscreen&go=Go

As for the DVB-T card, i don't know exactly, but install the driver if one is needed and make sure Mythtv is setup correctly for this card.

theteju, i can't find a place to put files, since it's not that big, i'll attach it to this post. Hope the admin's don't mind.

Changing the nvidia-install.sh script on your md will not break your install, and i said make a backup before doing so.

I would try:

* change the nvidia-install.sh to just exit (make backup first) This way the 195 driver will not be re-installed on reboot
* install latest nvidia driver (see above to kill X, etc.)
* reboot with /usr/pluto/RebootWithAVWizard.sh

If you still have no sound and alsa is still not there, install alsa through apt-get install.

If you need to upgrade alsa, here is a script that does that, it's a little dated, but can be adjusted to the newest.

Good luck,

Richard

slampt could you enlighten us with what patch you had to apply and maybe some more detailed steps of how you did it, i'm trying something similar with 2 usb cameras and an old laptop and running into similar USB hogging issues.

Thanks,

I think those fastspeedtest sources are giving you the errors, no problem, just ignore or comment them in the sources.list of both.

As for only 4 packages upgraded vs 14 on the core, this is correct, the md doesn't use some of the packages so install is not needed.

granted i don't have the music remote, i have a 3101 gyration.

The "green" button gives me the following in xev. Not sure if the first one was me doing it wrong or it actually gave it a 30 the first time, this is possible if the screensaver was active i'm guessing.
Pressed the button 3 times, same thing over and over.

Code: [Select]

When i play video, the green button will actually pause/play the media

None of the top buttons work (play, stop, pause, rew, wnd, etc...)

Just a thought, it looks like it's similar priced and other options are probably out there.

fastspeed.net must have taken the 0810 repo mirror down. Don't worry about it, use the old-releases in your sources.list
