Feature requests & roadmap / Re: Asterisk and Security
« on: June 24, 2010, 09:31:46 am »
OK I checked it my test setup of 0810 and it's there.
But at home I have 0710. I must definitely upgrade to 0810.

in 0810 version is the port 5060 in firewall default open. that means the attacks wont stop. OK I understand that it's a need to be so.
What do you think about implementing some script to create a ban list for IP addresses that tries to connect many times with bad password or
username? I search for something usable or cook something together with some web interface to show up.

Do you have clue why the log's in asterisk have another call durations as log from my SIP provider? Probably I should ask this in Asterisk forum.

Feature requests & roadmap / Asterisk and Security
« on: June 24, 2010, 07:58:35 am »
today I became phone bill  from my SIP account provider and it was a shock for me. It was for 1000 EUR. :(
I do not not believed it. Than I examined call log's in FreePBX, there were to see 24 calls to Siera Leone and Litva
total time about 30 minutes. After that I became list of calls from my provider. There were also 24 call's
but total time about 6 hours. I don't understand this. Why has Asterisk different call duration in log as my provider?

I have searched in Asterisk logs and found attack from outside. The hacker has connected to extension 1001 and placed calls.

My first problem was in instruction from my provider. They told me that I must open port 5060 in firewall to be able to
place and receive calls. Before that Asterisk was not able to register in their system. But this was also a open door
and invitation for attacker  to connect to on of my extensions. My fault, i did not realize at that moment that this is a big security problem.

Second problem is that the password for certain extension is the same as extension number!!! That's the first a attacker try.
We mus definitely change this. At first install it's OK, but after that, there should be a possibility in Wizard->Phones to change
the password.

Third problems. I also saw in log's other attack to my system. Should we not utilise some sort of program as fail2ban
to protect the system against such attacks?

has someone from you the target of similar attack?

for now I have found these text's:

SECURITY:

1. in window for entering pin is text "ENTER PIN" always in English

2. after changing mode, on bottom of the screen shows up a message "Change will be effective in" that's
translated, but the text after is not: "Immediately" is always english

AUDIO/VIDEO:

1. when you click on AUDIO or VIDEO icon, it shows you list of media, then you click on OPTIONS on right panel.
The sort option's are always in English "Genre, Tittle ..."

thank you Tom. I will wait.
But one thing. I have exported the whole English text's and translated. Then added the new language to database. That means, all texts are translated.
I have regenerated orbiter's with new language. But some text are always in English. I don't mean text's in images.

Are there some text hardcoded in sources?

Installation issues / Re: Orbiter on MD not starting.
« on: June 21, 2010, 09:25:07 am »
OK. I have found the problem. It was problem of one Network cards in my server. It was working, but there was something strange with it.
I have replaced it with new one and now everything is working fine.

I found out the the Orbiter in 0810 version is more responsive. Am I right?
As one MD I use AFL-08A Panel PC (500MHz Geode), on 710 core it was realy slow. On 0810 it works relay great. I don't know why.

You should examine log's of the MD . On core it's in location /usr/pluto/diskless/ (md number) /var/log/pluto

Installation issues / Orbiter on MD not starting.
« on: June 18, 2010, 09:46:34 am »
Hello,
I have installed 0810 branch on my backup server. After then done several steps (described on wiki) to be able to boot the MD over network.

I have connected the test MD to network and booted up. It show's me the AW vizard page, I go throe , everything looks OK.
Then shutted down the MD. In admin page I seen the new MD and Orbiter. I given the command to regenerate the orbiter and waited to be done.
Booted the MD, it's look's OK, X is started , show some installing stuff. The a error : Can't get orbiter configuration or Orbiter is being regenerated
I let it whole night running, but now success. The orbiter does not start. Here is the LaunchOrbiter.log from the diskless MD.

i have found it already in Wiki.

But how it's with the utf8 support. In Slovak Language there are some letter's that needs utf8. When I tried to translate
using HAD , the letter weren't accepted by database.

I have followed the link in Wiki http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Translate_the_GUI_into_another_language
but the database doesn't accepted special Slovak letter: ľščťžýáíé and so on.

Should I make the translation without these.

thank's

I'am a C programmer, therefore C++ is my preferred way. The starter point for me was answer from tschak909 in my post http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=7706.msg49568#msg49568. The basic code is prepared automatic. You just insert your code in prepared functions.
Ok you must know some basics about programming in C/C++.
Just try something simple at start to catch up the principles.

When I good understand your issue, you have problem to get ready supported devices in Europe. This is true. I been facing the same problem.
But if you are will to learn, you can make your own driver for devices, it's not so hard.
I've made driver's for my home made devices (temperature sensor, opto input's, rele's etc.)

Now I go further. This week i become for testing wireless system from local supplier (http://www.enika.cz/cz/instalacni-elektronika/bezdratove-ovladani---system-bosys.html, it's in Czech language but you can throw it through GoogleTranslate). They have wireless transmitter/receiver for PC on USB/Serial port. and many receivers for lights, reles. Transmitter contac's, PIR sensors and so on. I want to make driver's for this devices.

On other words, you can use any device when make the driver. And trust me it's easy.

Developers / new language - Slovak
« on: June 10, 2010, 07:42:24 am »
Hello ,

I have the translation to Slovak language almost done (will send it today).

I have found some misspelled names in webadmin.
Basic info-> Installation when you select Country to SLOVAKIA, the region Nitrinsky should be Nitriansky.

I would like to repair this things also add new Cities for Slovakia with GPS possitions. Where in database can I found the table to add it?
How to make it good, that the changes would be in next release.

thanks

OK. Setting up the templates again is not problem. Than I take my sources from 0710 and rebuild them on 0810.

What about the language. Is the way to make new Language the same as in 0710.

How can I contribute the added Slovak language to be in next release.
