« on: March 08, 2010, 05:37:04 am »
Yes I have a camera working , it is an old very old IBM usb webcam.

here is what worked for me.

Since my camera is very very old maximum resolution it can have was 320 * 240.

under admin website.   Devices---->core--------->motion wrapper

there are motion parameter.  in which I found #image settings and I changed my width 320 and height 240 according and reload, reboot the machine.

Boom,,, I have and old usb camera working as security camera. LOL

Hope this helps.. let me know

Take it easy.

Looks like Nobody replied to my post. Finally I resolved my issue for now. atleast I got my FK07 working. I will try my best to explain how I do it.

First of all I followed the wiki http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Logitech_Dinovo_Mini

There are few points to mention, My /etc/X11/xorg.conf file did not have the Inputdevice entry just like it is shown in wiki, So I added manually the entry in my xorg.conf file using sudo kate command.

Secondly , editing the xfree86 file in /usr/share/X11/xkb/keycodes just shown in the wiki, I got my windows key working as FK08 and i can control volume and lights. Yet my Home key on the DiNovo (under right) did not act as FK07.

Here what I did,

Open a terminal and type xev and press enter.
This will open a program that will detect your key inputs when you press them on logitech denovo. in my case when I press Home key on the DiNovo (under right) the keycode was 127 instead of 97 shown in wiki.

So I put   <FK07>= 127; in my xfree86 file.

this should work but for some reason it did not until finally I found that need to update the xorg file. I am exactly not sure but I think running AV wizard does update your xorg.conf file. So, Run the AV Wizard , that should run AV wizard on your next boot and again selecting your settings your should get your menu key working as FK07 :)))

I love my logitech denovo now.. amazing device.

NOTE:  trying to creat a device template for it but I think I will have to learn a lot before i even begin. I will try my best though.

Hope this helps someone.

Installation issues / Re: numerous problems installing lmce..
« on: January 05, 2010, 08:08:31 pm »
hello there,

I am not an expert but after a lot of troublesome procedure I am finally able to get my system up and running.

I would recommand to read this post, which helped me a lot.

http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=8838.0

also, I would recommand few additional steps to avoid future troubles.

1. please set up initial set up (first time "sara" comes up) with VGA connection to your monitor. pick basic settings on first setup. Remember you can always change this settings later on once the first setup configured successfully. So pick basic gui, simple audio etc and add user name and room set up.

2. once you have everything working under basic with VGA settings try to run AV wizard again and now pick HDMI, UI3 this will also install latest nvidia driver for you automatically and should work just fine.

3. I installed latest alsa package before installing linuxmce.. gave me optical audio out with no trouble.

If you are going to use any tuner card. I would recommand hold them until everything runs fine.. and add your additional component one by one.

One key thing is ,, be ready to often reboot or reload your router after every single steps. i know it takes time but worth it.( I prefer reboot)

also,, if you are newbiee really,,, read wiki and more and more stuff will make sense to you.

there are some tutorials by a user name pandaman on youtube about linuxmce ,, what can I say,,  he is my mentor !!!

I am loving it.

hope this helps..

Take care.

try to configure with VGA connection initially. You can always run the AV wizard later on and pick the DVI output once the system has been setup.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

Did you reload the DCE Router?  If you don't the device won't start...

I did Quick Reload Router and this didn't worked, also later I have rebooted the whole system without success.

Once following the wiki and after quick Reload.....
You need to be extremely patient and let the system generate the orbiter. For the first time, system take more than usual time depending on your processor speed. I just generated mine after reading your post. everything went just fine.

The progress status is best seen under Advance ----> pending task. rather than under webadmin (my experience)

Hope this helps. Thanks

Why don't one of you write a device driver for LinuxMCE to support this card?

Sounds like a plan, Unfortunately I am just a regular ubuntu user.. barely learned using terminal recently. Writing a device driver is beyond my scope  :P
But atleast I can comment that a lot of people out there has this card. So any efforts will worth for the community.

Thanks. for replies guys.

Take care.

Hello there,

I am sorry to bother the developers who are really working hard at the moment. I know one of them using hauppauge 1600 successfully, my research says ,, it should be plug in play in these recent kernels. looks like its driver cx18 is stable as well.

Are we ever going to support the card ?  I have sitting it and HD homerun is little bit expensive at the moment to afford :P

I hope some one reply me to get this card to get going. Also,, looks like a lot of user has this card already. If you support the card, it will help others too.

Thank you all guys. God bless you.

take care.

I already bought some 6200 at ebay but this card was defective. So i tried it with a old card that i had on stock.
I will try it again if i have no sucess i will buy another 6200 with hopfully more luck.

I used to use a 6200GT and a 7300LE and I now use a 9400GT in my home Core.

Andrew

Is 9400GT fully supported ? did you have any problem what so ever with it.. I am thinking to buy it.. thats why asking.. I would appreciate your reply.

Thanks.

Installation issues / Re: SOLVED: AVWizard resolution problem
« on: October 13, 2009, 06:02:05 am »
I am having the same problem.

I use DVI port, my card is nvidia 7200. My AV wizard goes fine but when "sara" comes in for some reason it make 800 * 480 and i just cannot see the buttons on setup wizards.

I can understand your steps but can you be more specific about going  "shh in" and modifying xorg.conf file? (exactly How?)

i mean from step 2 onwards.

thanks you.
