Installation issues / [SOLVED] Is this DVB-tuner plug & play in LinuxMCE 810
« on: September 10, 2009, 02:51:26 pm »
Hi everyone,

I need to setup a cheap linuxmce, and i was looking into this tuner:
http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/MSI_DigiVox_mini_II

But is there anyone who has tried it in Linuxmce or knows if it will work with a minimum of modifications?

Thanks

Installation issues / Tuner not detected - kernel upgrade?
« on: December 29, 2008, 10:16:03 am »
Hi guys,

I’m trying to setup my new mediacenter and everything goes fine until I have to use my DVB-C tuners(SATELCO EasyWatch PCI DVB-C HDTV "Basic Edition", see http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Satelco_EasyWatch_PCI_%28DVB-C%29).

I thing, that they are not supported by the kernel version that LinuxMCE is shipped with.
So I have been trying to follow this wiki-page (http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Upgrading_the_Kernel) to upgrade the kernel, however

I get the following error right after typing the command:
mkinitramfs -o /boot/initrd.img-2.6.26.5 2.6.26.5

I get the following errors:
find:  /lib/firmware/2.6.26.5: No such file or directory
find:  /lib/firmware/2.6.26.5: No such file or directory
find:  /lib/firmware/2.6.26.5: No such file or directory
find:  /lib/firmware/2.6.26.5: No such file or directory
find:  /lib/firmware/2.6.26.5: No such file or directory
find:  /lib/firmware/2.6.26.5: No such file or directory

I have tried just to ignore it, however the computer cannot boot of it – it can’t see my soft raid drives – and I have included the soft raid in the kernel  :)

Anyone who can help me with this one?

Please

Users / RS-232 support for Panasonic PZ800 series
« on: November 27, 2008, 09:12:09 pm »
Hi guys,

I'm thinking about buying Panasonics 42PZ800 instead of the PZ85 since the PZ800 series has RS232  - nice :-)
(Yes I know that is can use a UIRT for this, but I need the one I have for the bedroom, and I think that RS-232 is more stable then IF)

Anyway, my question to you guys is:
Is there an template for this device in LinxuMCE, and if not, how simple is it to make one?

The only thing I want to be able to do is:
Turn it on/off
Select source (HDMI 1 or whatever my LMCE is on)

I have tried to Google for any information about the commands for PZ800 rs232 interface but without any luck.
The only thing that I have found is this:

Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply’s!

I’m downloading RC2 right now, I can see that it was released only three days ago. And I downloaded the version that I’m using last week. So close  ;D

Do I need a “real” primary controller, or can I use the LinuxMCE as a primary controller? All I have right now is the VIASense Homecontroller and two light dimmers (RA Smartdimmer version 1 and 2) from innovus(www.innovus.dk).

So do I also have to order a primary controller or…?

I sure appreciate it!

Hi everyone.

I need help to configuration a Seluxit ViaSENS Homecontroller. I can see in this forum and on the wiki pages that it is confirmed to work with LinuxMCE version 710 or newer.
The users Hari is also using it, however i can't figure out how to add it as a Interface in LinuxMCE, can anyone guide me through?

I have tried to added it under ”Devices\Interfaces”.
Manufacturer: Click on “Add device” and then add the vendor Seluxit since it is not listed.
Device: “Interfaces”
Device template “Zwave”
And then I click “Pick device template”.

The interface get listed under Interfaces, so fare so good. So what do I have to do now?
I expected that I have to do something under “Advanced” settings for the interface that I have added, but I can't figure out way I have to do now.

Can someone please help me???

PS: When I attach the usb device to my core computer is writes “[    316.841156]  /build/buildd/linux-source-2.6.22-2.6.22/drivers/usb/class/cdc-acm.c: This device cannot do calls on its own. It is a no modem.”
