Installation issues / Re: LG LCD Template
« on: September 12, 2011, 10:28:16 pm »
I occasionally have this problem. I think the ruby codes don't allow quite enough time for the TV to start when in standby. This means when the script queries the LG for the current volume there is no response so the LG is disabled.

You could try and extend this time.

Users / Video/Audio display grid changes?
« on: May 26, 2011, 05:02:39 pm »
Hey guys,

I haven't updated 0810 in a while as I have a stable build from last year. I keep attempting updates and new builds but various problems always make me revert to my stable backup. So apologies if this is old news ... but ...

My question is ..... Does the media display grid (audio/video) now show the media devices/drives first?

For example, I did a new build and when I selected video I didn't see any videos I saw 'Samsung 1TB' or similar. I then had to click on the drive to see the media on it.

Is this the new layout?

Users / Re: Denon Amp HDMI output problem
« on: May 20, 2011, 10:13:39 pm »
Thanks guys,

@posde
Just used the web orbiter to select and play a movie. When I clicked play the TV turned on, I could hear the sound but the picture was just the Denon screensaver. Each time I stop the video and then select another and press play the LG briefly flashes HDMI2 and 576i (the selected input and received resolution) but only the screen saver displays.

@pigdog
The LG is correctly displaying the selected input but for some reason the Denon is not outputting the correct video signal. It could be a similar scenario but it might be the Denon that does not detect

It's weird that when the screensaver kicks in the md signal suddenly appears. I guess I need to figure out what command the md sends when the screensaver starts.

Users / Denon Amp HDMI output problem
« on: May 19, 2011, 10:51:23 pm »
I have a Denon 2310 which is controlled by lmce and I use the hdmi output from the denon to my LG TV (also controlled by lmce).

The Denon amp has multiple video inputs which it can output to the LG via its single hdmi output.

Here's the problem ...
The md is asleep. I press menu on my remote (gyration) which turns on the LG and the Denon amp and switches the denon's video input to v.aux (my core's hdmi output) and the audio/spdif input (from my core) to my ceiling speakers.

When the TV has turned on all I can see is a Denon logo. At this point I can do 2 things.
1. Use the Denon's IR remote to change the input source to something different .... then back again and it works.
2. Wait ... for the screensaver to kick in (10 minutes) and my screensaver appears. Then it works.

Another workaround is to use the core hdmi output directly to the TV (I've done this for over a year), but this limits the flexibility of having multiple inputs on the Denon.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks guys. I'll attach it to the core TV component in and maybe use it manually on the md TV using hdmi.

I can see the conflicts you both pointed out.

I have an openbox s9 HD satellite receiver with both component/audio and hdmi outputs.

Is it possible to distribute these outputs to two of my lmce mds and have it controlled as av equipment within lmce using orbiters and ir?

Basically, I want to use the hdmi output to my 37 inch LG and Denon Amp (core) and the component/audio output to one of my acer revo powered mds (with LG TV)

I know I could use say a HD PVR to capture the component signal into the system, but ... can I simply have lmce switch inputs on my TV and amp and issue ir commands from two mds instead?

I have created the device and captured the ir commands into lmce via usb-uirt.
However, there is only one option for video/audio pipes per av device.

Any ideas?

Installation issues / Re: LG LCD Template
« on: April 30, 2011, 11:28:21 pm »
Hi Tomas,

Off topic but ....

I used software raid for a while and lost everything upgrading to 0810. I have a 1TB drive as my primary storage and I have a second 1TB drive which I told lmce to ignore. I copy the storage to the backup regularly using:
Code: [Select]
cp -u
The -u option only copies new files.

PING runs from a boot CD and can copy your lmce partition to this second HDD (or a network drive).

Hope this helps.

Hi Tomas,

Glad you got it working. Lots of people have helped with this functionality, tkmedia created the original template, others have added their input in this thread and mercur2k improved and submitted the final template.

I know in recent builds the pnp doesn't work and I think manually adding it is the current solution. Did you use a recent build?

Personally I don't use or recommend raid any more. I've lost lots of data using it in the past. I just use a primary drive and back up to a secondary drive. I also backup my stable lmce using ping.

I think the 60 second snapshots are taken by default by all cameras installed under motion.

Not sure why the motion events don't trigger the recordings though.

He's definitely the man! Let me know if you need outputs (lsusb etc).

I have one of these too, not detected as expected in LMCE 0810. Thought it was because I haven't update/upgraded since last year.

Using it temporarily on my acer revo with yaVDR and the s2-liplianin drivers. Works fine, so might be a problem with the current v4l package in LMCE.

Here is my output from that command:

Thanks Coley,

Been using usb to rs232 adapters for a while. No problems until this rebuild. Might have to revert, but I have been trying to get up to date since January.

This is the output from the core with 2 adapters (Denon amp and LG TV).
Cheers

Hi guys,

Just installed from snapshot 23858.

All went quite well except:
1. None of my RS232 devices are detected at all (LG TVs, Denon Amp). I use usb to rs232 adapters which worked fine previously.
2. Gyration3101 won't work properly in mythtv (fine in everything else)

Any help appreciated.
