Hi l3mce,

I have an Acer Revo md which has no sound over HDMI (was working until recently). So I followed this thread.

I upgraded the core yesterday, removed the md in web admin, ran /usr/pluto/bin/Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh and then turned on the Revo MD. Everything seemed normal during creation but no sound over hdmi no matter what I chose in AV wizard (HDMI, DVI-HDMI2 etc).

I just upgraded the core again and got another pluto-boot-scripts update. Rebooted the core. I have again deleted the new md, I am currently running Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh again and will let you know what happens when I turn my md on.

My output from the pciid code in this thread is 087d.

Forget the glitch with the UI offset. Ran the AV wizard again and it was perfect.

Hi l3mce,

Can't really answer your questions I'm afraid. I installed last week and didn't notice either of those events as the huge a/v screen got all my attention.

A freeze/reboot would, frankly, have gone unnoticed. I can always delete and recreate the md if you really want it testing. I also didn't notice any shift once I selected my resolution.

One thing I noticed yesterday (but not on my intel md) ..... I re-ran the av wizard on my core (nvidia graphics) to remove the alpha blending, and on the alignment page I had to nudge the display to the right a few pixels to get the arrows right (which is a first), it's usually perfectly aligned. However, once the main UI popped up it was aligned off the screen to the right and I can only see half the alphabet on the media screens.

One major improvement I did notice is that my Asus B202 now runs UI2 very nicely where it only ran UI1 under 0810.

Thanks posde and l3mce.

Applied to mds as well and it works perfectly.

Been having this problem too. Whenever an md boots up the drive goes offline and has to be manually turned on then reload router.

The new scripts don't make any difference to me. I made a backup of the originals, copied only to the core. Rebooted (core and mds) and have the exact same problem.

I had a problem with the AV Wizard on an Asus B202. The wizard screen was huge and I could only see the upper left quadrant. Followed l3mce's advice above and renamed the xorg.conf on the md. Rebooted and it worked perfectly.

Sorry to jump in. Thought it was worth mentioning as it is an Intel GMA950 and l3mce needed testers.

Ironic that a missing xorg.conf solved my problem!

OK. Still flaky so applied the above fix.

MythTV is definitely better. I can play on the core and an md that have had the fix. Still having some problems with encoders/mythfill database. Can't delete encoders using:
computing->mythTV setup

If I do they just re-appear when I go back in. At the moment I have 4 encoders showing in mythweb but I'm only using the HVR2200 twin tuner.

This is probably better in another thread though. I'll keep playing.

l3mce's suggestions have all more or less worked for me. That plus finding the missing firmware.
Thank you.

Thanks again l3mce.

Turns out I didn't have the firmware for the HVR2200. Got it as follows:
Code: [Select]
cd /lib/firmware/
wget http://steventoth.net/linux/hvr22xx/firmwares/3978608/v4l-saa7164-1.0.3.fw

After reboot it got detected and now it works. Will rescan and try the above fix if it's still flaky.

OK. That worked for one of the cards (kworld usb).

Mythtv is a bit hit and miss. Keeps crashing, but might be poor signal with that device as it only picked up a few channels.

Thanks l3mce

Hi All,
Just did a clean install from the latest snapshot (1st July). My tuners aren't detected/working for mythtv. Do I need to add drivers. I assumed they would be auto-detected as they both work in 0810.

I have a:
1. Kworld KW-DVB-T 399U USB
2. HVR2200 PCIe DVB-T
Both worked fine in 0810

Cheers,
Barney

Just tried this today from the iso from July 1st.

Main problem is my tuners aren't detected/working for mythtv. Do I need to add drivers. I assumed they would be auto-detected as they both work in 0810.

I have a:
1. Kworld KW-DVB-T 399U USB
2. HVR2200 PCIe DVB-T
Both worked fine in 0810

Otherwise install was generally OK apart from constant interruptions for detected hdds, tvs etc, however the wizard would always remember my last action.
Cheers,
Barney

I have just copied some videos to my videos directory by creating a subfolder with the series name e.g. 'House'. Then a subfolder called 'Season 1'. Then all the files.

For me this appears under video on the orbiter as a single item called 'House' above all the files in the 'videos' root directory. If I browse into the 'series' folder I see 'Season 1' and if I browse into 'Season 1' I can select and play the episodes.

As an example, the first 'video' when viewing the video media on an orbiter is a folder called 'House' followed by the film 'Avatar' (being the first film in the videos folder).

Does this mean my install is corrupt? This seems to be the behaviour evilecho was requesting.

I am worried because when I choose video on my orbiters I see 'SAMSUNG_HD103UJ', which is the name of my HDD, rather than the list of videos I am used to. I then need to drill down to see the media on that HDD.

Users / Re: Which VOIP provider in the UK works with LMCE?
« on: November 25, 2011, 12:58:20 pm »
@Thom ... Let me re-word it ... I can't see the advantage of lmce integration vs confrontation with SWMBO. As neat as it is my wife just wants to pick up a phone and dial/answer.

@Matt You could try voipcheap as an alternative provider from within lmce and see if you have any more luck, but it seems it is the incoming calls you are struggling with. I don't think they offer incoming numbers.
