Users / qorbiter and TV-Shows
« on: February 24, 2016, 05:15:10 pm »
Hello guys, I am having a little trouble making sense of how qorbiter handles TV-Shows.
Lets say I have a number of different TV-Shows with multiple seasons. The I put them in the filesystem is by having a folder that names the Show and then subfolders with the respective seasons (i.e. Season1, Season2...)
All in all no problem. I have also tagged those shows with there Episodes properly. With the onscreen orbiter I would go to sort them after filenames and navigate to the show>season>episode and select the episode I'd like to watch.
With qorbiter I go to video>TVshows and then I am presented with a number of buttons pertaining to the shows, however each season bears the name of the show and nothing else. So I have to guess, which one is the season I want to watch, trusting the sort order is ascending.
I have tried changing the view with the help of attribute, but I think I'm missing something.
What is your experience so far?

« on: February 19, 2016, 11:39:31 pm »
I made a fresh install today -actually two, but thats a different story.
I could tune and create a channels.conf. So far so good, however VDR is not starting.
I found this in /var/log/syslog:

Installation issues / performance takes a hit when starting md
« on: February 15, 2016, 09:19:24 pm »
I found out, when I start my MD, I need to do a reload router after its booted up, otherwise the whole system slows down to a crawl. Videoplayback on either core or MD experiences frame drops, or jumps. UI becomes totally unresponsive.
Have you guys seen that too?

Installation issues / Shutdown problem
« on: February 08, 2016, 10:15:58 pm »
Aside from the onscreen orbiter of my me crashing after watching a movie, I have the problem, that I can not shutdown the md. When selecting power off, it says shutting down, but won't do so. Trying to force issue by holding the power button of the me until it switched off (I know, not good, not nice) resulted in a hangup off the core.
Ssh into the md and do shutdown - h now works though.

Installation issues / What I got working in 14.04
« on: February 07, 2016, 02:12:36 pm »
Usually I write what is not working, now for somthing good, that is working, mostly out of the box, here is my list:
HDMI-sound on the core
VDR
internal drives found
NAS-Box found, including correct access rights, which has recently been an issue for me on 12.04, dunno whats changed
MD creation (Asrock ion 330)
Squeezebox, Player running on RPI2 as Internet-radio
Mediatomb- need ot figure out how to get it started automatically again
Asterisk, all phones registered out of the box, no need to restart manually( which has also been an issue for me on 12.04)
qorbiter on my mobile phones

I don't claim this to be complete, but I will keep working on it.

Installation issues / net install of 14.04 is currently broken[solved]
« on: January 31, 2016, 12:38:36 pm »
I just tried a net install of 14.04 to make a hybrid.
the script quit with unmet dependencies:
lmce-hybrid: depends lmce-md-meta but it is not going to be installed
depends lmce-core but it is not going to be installed

right now I'm downloading the latest snapshot of 14.04, hopefully it works.

Installation issues / fresh net install 01.01.2016
« on: January 02, 2016, 06:52:09 pm »
A Happy new year to everybody :-)
My server gave out and I had to replace the mainboard, along with the cpu.
I wanted to try 14.04, but I could not get any sound via hdmi. So I went with 12.04 again. As I didn't see the latest snapshot for this year, I went with the net-install...which had me use the original 12.04.05 iso. This one still doesn't like my gt610- the snapshots work nice with this- so after intalling it and fiddling the drivers, I got sound and everything is okay.
Right now I'm trying to setup my MD--and it seems a running in circles with generating the screens...it goes to stage one and generates screens, starts stage to and then I get big windows title "Prompt_user" with something that looks like a blank button...varying in size...and then the whole things seems to start over.
Any ideas?

Users / Nas box doesn'T let me access my files
« on: December 30, 2015, 08:49:01 pm »
I got a seagate blackarmor as a nas. my lmce runs on 12.04. The nas is detected and lmce can see all the files. I'm using lmce file structure there.
Now all my files there belong to root. Even though the acl says, that everyone can do anything...my windows10 pcs cannot access anything, even though I've connected with credentials from lmce.
Do you guys have any idea, what I could do?

Users / cloning to another hd
« on: December 19, 2015, 08:05:06 pm »
Guys, I think my ssd (240GB), where lmce resides, is going to die on me....the systems hangs quite often and finding errors after almost every clean boot doesn't seem right to me.
So I got me a second ssd (256GB) and I thought I could clone the system over to the new one. I wanted to make a new install, but with little luck. Currently I cannot really use the recent snapshots and doing a net install is quite a headache for me. However that is not due to lmce, but rather the installer of kubuntu 12.04, which requires me to start with nomodeset, since it absolutely hates my nvidia-card.
So I either could clone my existing system, or I would have to go with 14.04, since the installer there plays nice with my hardwar.
What would be the best course of action? Clonezilla, gparted...or what?`

Cheers
Mario

Users / Reload router on any action
« on: November 27, 2015, 07:16:41 pm »
In my windows box, i still use the old Pluto orbiter, that can still be downloaded from the webadmin. Now, whatever button I click, it caused dcerouter to do a reload. I just found out also, that using the onscreen orbiter to play internet radio, it also causes a reload router.
Actually i wanted to use qorbiter to control my rpi2 in the kitchen for playing internet radio. That one was working in my previous installation very nicely, with squeezelite.

Users / Nvidia driver update
« on: October 28, 2015, 11:38:22 pm »
After today's update I let my me start with avwizard with the hope it would install Nigeria drivers. However I went into an endless bootloop.
Now, koffel suggested in the irc to circumvent nvidiainstall.sh to get nvidia-current installed. This might be a temporary fix, but in the long run, it would not do.
What can I do to make this better?

Users / Multiplying id3 tags
« on: October 26, 2015, 10:51:53 pm »
So I have a NAS-box running.  I put some movies on it, however I see several id3.tag cropping up there for some of them.
I would have
Movie.avi.id3
Movie.avi.id3.rtfsd
Movie.avi.id3.redf
And so on..after deleting them, they come back...and lmce is asking me how to add them to the database.

Installation issues / fresh net-install from 22.10.2015
« on: October 22, 2015, 07:27:12 pm »
after navigating some trouble with installing Linuxmce on my computer (mainly graphicsdriver issues) I tried to configure mythtv. At first no setup showed up, but when it finally did, I was able to configure the DVB-S card and search for stations. However I cannot watch TV. Backend seems to be crashing all the time, all tuners are supposed to be busy. I also cannot access mythweb. I get only an imcomplete webpage, like shown in the screenshot.
