Hi falcorn!

Fiire chief isn't produced any more... Surely you can buy it still on some ebay or similar sites...

Thom is currently working on a (new) Gyration solution, so, if you do not need that "gyro" solution straight away, keep in touch and follow the development... I'm personally also in that position (use the universal IR remote)...

hope mine opinion helps a bit...

the same here...

i started with an 80GB HD drive in the core, only for OS and MD's... after adding 4 MD's, the disk was almost full, so i switched to 160GB and i already feel sorry, i didn't switch to a min 250GB drive...

it depends on your needs, but I would recommend at least 120GB

since you have serial ELO, I'm not sure, the system will see it out from the box... i use USB version, and it works great http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/ELO_touchscreen (below)...

I have an odd problem.
When I rip a new video to my system and then search for the mediapics it finds the IMDB information and pops up the fetching poster for 0268380 (Ice Age).

Isn't LMCE using Amazon metadata???

Now when I boot off the i386 710 DVD download and select Install Linux MCE, I see the splash screen and then the BusyBox message with (initramfs) prompt. an anyone help me PLEEEEASE!!  And please keep in mind I might not know all the obvious stuff yet.

I managed that issue, when I manually (with an jumper) set my HDD as a "master" - before it was "cable select" default...

I use ELO touchscreen in my lobby as a full MD (epia based) and is working great - like said by other guys - UI1 (sorry, no UI2)...

How to install ELO touchscreens on ubuntu/kubuntu/LMCE - find here:http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=579155 - follow that, works great!

Also it would be good to know if the backup from web admin can be restored on any Linuxmce machine(given that hw has been setup the same) or is it depending on being the same exact hw.?

Hi Johan!

I am also trying to move the whole system to another disk (the old one is far too small).. Tried to use that backup/restore function in web admin. The backup was created OK, as much as i have seen, but then...new disk, new installation, restoring old backup (created by RC1) on a RC2... it gives the information, the restore process was OK, and that rebooting will take some time. Unfortunately there is no change in the database, no change regarding boot process...

So i cloned my old hdd to a new one and now i'm tryin' to figure out, how to add that unpartitioned space to first partition...

Why would you want to do that?

I want to hide these things because i can't use it , but i still want to use the MediaCenter part of Linux MCE so i would like to hide other buttons and show only the media button. So you think i should use another software like mythTV if i only want the media part?!?

Try Mythbuntu in your case, if you only need HTPC...

hmmm, as first question - you think a 300 MHz processor could manage all LMCE tasks (or only basic ones)? 

 i have 3 DB's in my house, but use them separately from LMCE - ok, in the next future, i will try to control them thru lmce, not much more...

I think, the link provided is not the best solution - or the working solution... I tried installing elo driver that way, but no luck... Then i used the following howto (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=579155) and is working GREAT!, no problems at all...

Installation issues / wacom pen stops working after orbiter start

Hi!

I'm running MD on my Fujitsu Stylistic 4110 with wacom digitizer pen.

The pen works OK during startup, but few moments before orbiter popup it is just... bang... gone...

I have to sonnect my usb mouse then to play with it...

Any ideas?

Since the pen is working OK till ...., i assume, my xorg.conf should be OK...
