Users / VDR not working on a MD
« on: January 19, 2008, 12:13:59 pm »
Well I thought I would start a new thread for this one as it seems to be getting lost in my previous thread.

Well I have VDR up and running great on my hybrid machine.
However when I try and launch live tv on a md I get no signal and chanel unavailable.
Do I need to set anything manually on the md to tell it to look to the vdr server running on the core?

Any suggestions?

However when I play backl the iso on linuxmce it has subtitles.
Can anyone tell me how to select or disable the subtitles in linuxmce playback?
I have looked in the menus and cannot find any info on subtitles.

Users / VDR Setup
« on: January 16, 2008, 11:32:59 pm »
Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to setup VDR in the new bate3.

How  you go about tuning and setting up the channels?

Also it says in the info on the release that VDR is now included with support for some Dvb-s cards.
Is there support for dvb-c cards? Specifically will the TechnoTrend TT1500 card I have now working in mythtv sort of.

Any info while im waiting for the torrent to download would be great.

Users / High load avg in 0710 using ui2
« on: January 06, 2008, 12:57:52 am »
Hi all

I have just installed the new 0710 beta2 using the recommended asus board with built in nvidia graphics
I was very impressed when ui2 worked out of the box without trouble, a least it seemed at first.

However after using the system for a few hours it seems to have started to get overly high load averages of 6.o or more and the core/hybrid would freeze u almost.
I have now switched to ui1 and it seems to have solved the problem.

Has anyone else experienced this before?

Is there any chance of this being a pre christmas release now??

Hope everyone has a good holiday anyway.

Users / Low Audio Volume on VIA Chipset
« on: September 24, 2007, 01:38:21 pm »
Hi

I have an Asus Pundit P2-AE2 Mini barebones system which Im using as a network boot media director.
It has the following chipsets

North Bridge: VIA K8M800
South Bridge: VIA VT8237R

Audio is a ADI AD 1888
6 Channel Codec

I have everything working great on this except for the audio is very quiet. No matter what I set in the mixer in kd the audio is very low. I have to turn my reciever upto full to be able to hear anything. When I switch to another input on the reciever the volume is deafening.
Any help on how to sort out this volume issue would be appreciated.

Users / Does anyone have LiveTV in MYTh Working?
« on: September 14, 2007, 02:52:57 am »
Hi all

I am just wondering if anyone has livetv working operly in mythtv?
I have seen a lot of posts about people who have problems like myself. Specifically that livetv crashes normally after a few seconds and always within 10 mins or so. I am just wondering if anyone has this working as it seems to be related to the linuxmce/pluto mythtv wrapper.

Users / Local Boot media Diectors
« on: September 13, 2007, 02:23:01 am »
Just a quick question.

Just wondering if it is possible to boot a media director from the local harddrive instead of via network boot?
If I install from the cds is there an option to install justthe media director components only??

« on: August 23, 2007, 10:39:18 pm »
Hi all

I am relatively new to linuxmce and am having a general good time with it except for the fact that I am having major prolems with mythtv freeziong. I am coming to the conclusin that it could be due to the motherboard im using. CVan anyone suggest a good motherboard to use with the new Intel Quad core processors, prefferably with as many pci cards as possible.

Users / Problems watching TV
« on: August 08, 2007, 08:34:41 pm »
I am running I think RC1 of Linuxmce on an Intel Quad core 2.4ghz with 2gb ram and 320gb hard drive.
I have a Nova-T 500 DVB card running in the system.

I have managed to install this. However when watching tv the picture is extremly jerky and tends to crash mythtv after a minute or so. I have tried updating to the latest mythtv however this does not seem to have fixed the problem.

Any ideas from anyone??

Hi

Have just bought a NOVA-T500 and made sure it is the older non diversity model as this has some problems I believe.
However I cannot seem to get it to be recognised in MythTV.
What driver should I be loading for this card.

Users / Hauppauge MCE Remote Control Kit
« on: August 07, 2007, 04:04:47 pm »
Hi

First  all I would like to praise all the team for some great work.
I have done some with pluto before and found thisa a lot easier and quicker to get up and running. Keep up the good work.

I have just bought a Haupauge MCE kit as an MCE remote was recommended. This kit also came with a USB Ir reciever and blaster. I am wondering if this can be used for IR in/out and if anyone has any tips on getting it installed and setup.

Regards
