Users / Running a script prior to Myth Backend start

Hi Guys

I am trying to get a script to run to load a couple of programs before MythBackEnd loads on my core.

Can anyone give an easy way to fire off a script that will complete before mythbackend is loaded.

Installation issues / DTS in AVWizard Issues?

Hi Guys

I have just hooked my MD upto my av amp using an Optical connector.

Now in the avwizard I select Spdif(Optical)
I get the first test music fine.
I can hear the music on the Dolby digital test fine.
However when it comes to the DTS test I hear nothing. However my amp has the DTS logo on front so I assume it is DTS compatible.

Has anyone else had issues with this?

Can anyone actually confirm that the audio file for DTS is present or where to look for it?

Installation issues / Reboot cycle installing Nvidia Drivers

Hi guys

I have tonight tried to install 10.04

The install all went ok did the first reboot.
Instead of the avwizard I just get various messages on screen which would expect on ubuntu boot.
Then I get an apt install messages saying that it is installing the nvidia-260 drivers.
It then says that the nvidia drivers have been installed and that it needs to be rebooted.

It reboots and does the exact same thing and just keeps going round in this cycle.

Anyone got any ideas on how to stop this?

Btw. I have had 0810 RC1 running great on this same core.

Installation issues / Asus M4A87TD/USB3 870 Socket AM3 ----- Raid Drivers

Hi Guys

I have bought the above board and today built my new Core using this board.

Everything seems to be going ok except for the fact that neither 0810 or 1004 seem to pick up the RAID 5 array I have configured.
They see all 4 seperate 2TB drives but do not see it as a single RAID 5 array,

Any pointers here would be great.

Installation issues / Missing NVIDIA Drivers

Hi guys.

Not sure if this is an issue with the graphics card I have purchase or with a repo or some totally other problem.

I have today tried to install both the RC1 and 10.04 kubuntu onto my new core with following spec

Asus M4A87TD/USB3 870 Socket AM3 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
G-Skill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz RipjawsX Memory Kit CL9 (9-9-9-24) 1.5V
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Socket AM3 3.2 GHz 6MB L3 Cache Retail Boxed Processor
Gigabyte 8400GS 512MB GDDR2 HDMI DVI Out PCI-E Graphics Card

However for some reason on both it tells me there are no restricted drivers available.
Has anyone else experienced problems with this today?

Users / Zotac Zbox

Hi guys

I have bought a Zotac Zbox I think its the HD-ID11
I choose it because it was ION based and had a half decent ATOM processor in it.

I have plugged it into my network and it picks up the network boot.

Gets about 30 secs in and hangs with a Kernel Panic regarding eth0.

I have looked around the forums and found some info on unrecognised nics but none of the instructions seem to work with the current version I am running. Which is one of the most recent working Snapshots.

Any ideas where to go from here guys?

Installation issues / VDR on MD Problems

I have installed the latest 0810 B2 and finally got it working after a few issues.

I have now got the media director working after realising it was trying to use a 64 bit image fo some reason.

However I cannot get vdr working. It says on boot up that VDR failed to load and when I try and change the settings as per the wiki instructions on setting up vdr on md manually the /var/lib/vdr/setup.conf file does not exist.

It seems as if VDr has not been properly installed on the MD. Can anyone shed some light on the steps to get this working.

Also I dont currently have a MCE remote and am using the mouse till the remote turns up. Any tips on how to control VDR?

Users / External Drive Read-Only

Hi

I have an external Terabyte drive which I use to store my movies and musci and other things used wiht linuxmce.
It worked fine under 0710. However on my new 0810 install it detects it fine and will let me play media from the drive but will not let me copy new stuff to the drive.
All I get is Access denied.

Can anyone shed some light on this and give me a hint on where to look to fix this?

Installation issues / Where has windows orbiter gone?

I have finally got my 0810 b2 working and got an MD up too and have found another problem.

I have gone to the webpahe from my windows laptop to install the orbiter for windows. The link is there however it downloads a file 0kb in size.

Can anyone help me? I don't currently have any remotes so need an orbiter on my laptop.

I have folloowed the link about updating the sources to old-releases not archive and run an update but still get an error

Hi guys

I have been away for a while and not been keeping up on progress on Linuxmce.

I am planning on upgrading my system to latest version, probably the 0704 Final.
Can anyone tell me how far the VDR integration has got on this version?
Mainly is it working on the media directors to be able to watch different channels from the core?

Users / Wrong audio Stream in MythTV

Hi all

I have mythtv setup with a Dvb-C card to recieve the free-to-air channels from my cable provider.
Now my cable provider sends 2 audio feeds for each channel one with audi descriptions for people with vision problems and one without.
Now for some reason in mythtv some of my channels have the correct audio feed and some do not. I have this same problem on my Dbox however I have to just press the red button and select the other audio from the list and it solves the problem until I change channel.
It is only on some channels as some come up with the correct audio.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to change this within mythtv as I dont seem to be ableto find a button to do this and have looked at thre channells entry in the database and can fine nothing in this either.

Users / Audio volume in VDR

Hi all

I am having a slight issue with my system in that the audio level coming out of vdr is lower than that from xine when playing dvd and videos.
Any tips on how to change the volume from vdr to make them about the same?
