Your're welcome Thom
I admire you guys very much, as you were able to do such a huge job on a volunteer basis and had the capability to do it in a so passionate way and coping with all the other things you have to deal with in your personal lives (something that I wasn't able to do)

So thanks again

P.S: Acually I was waiting for a twap ... as I solved the issue kind of "duct taping"  :)

Just for the records

when creating the GSD from the device template I did not pay proper attention to a warning that was saying that no group/codeset were associated to the manufacturer of the device.
Then I went back to the device template and changed the manufacturer from the real one (that was not in the list and I had added on the spot) to Pluto and saved.

Therefore in the instance of GSD all Ruby command set appeared.

Not sure whether this is the proper way to do it, anyway now everything is working and I'm happily up'n'running again,

Kind of obvious, I have a lot of rust to clean off my LMCE rememberings ...

Thanks anyway

BTW: you guys have done a _great_  job with 10.04, I think I'll have some fun in the next weeks discovering and testing all the new goodies  ;)

Hi posde

I have already added the command group in the device template (actually it was already there by default), but still I cannot see the commands.
Have also reloaded the router several times, no luck ...

Hi all
after a _long_ time I'm diving back into LinuxMCE.
I'm setting up a new hybrid based on 10.04, and I'm trying to recover all the interesting feature that were running in my old 7.10.

Precisely I'm trying to bring again to life a GSD driver that I wrote to interface LMCE to my lighting system. At that time (several years ago...) I created a Generic Serial Device, and filled in with ruby code all the internal commands.

Now I cannot find my way in doing the same. I created a device template, checked the Internal Ruby Command option, but when I add a GSD based on that template I cannot see the usual ruby command set (PrivateMethodListing, ProcessIDLE, ProcessIncomingData, ....) where I should paste my ruby code.

I've read wiki and I believe I followed the instructions, but since the things are not working surely I'm missing something (it's  _really_ long time I don't play with LMCE).
Is there anyone that can point me in the right direction?
Thanks and regards

Also in my thoughts and prayers Thom.
Be strong, it's something that sooner or later we have to go through anyway.

Users / Re: LMCE 10.04 Asterisk status
« on: March 22, 2012, 11:32:08 am »
Hi Han
Just a question on your new core

when you say EeePc are you meaning the laptop, or are you referring to the Eee Box?

I'm in a similar situation as yours (core died ... have to build a new one ...) and I'm also concerned about power usage, so I'm curious about the specs of your new core ...

thanks in advance

Hi all,

because my 8.10 system is slowly breaking down on me hardware wise, I have taken on the task to install 10.04 on a brand new core system. As power usage is a major concern I have chosen a Asus EeePc to be my new core. Everything installed nicely and with some configuring I even have Mythtv up and running with IPTV.

The thing I noticed however is that the Asterisk side of things is not in a workable state. My system registers nicely to my Voip provider, but incoming calls do not get detected, Also a Generic Iphone and a Cisco 7960 can be added to the system but do not work. What I see in the Asterisk logs is that the phones cannot be found in the configuration.

Anybody able to tell what exactly the status of Asterisk under 10.04 is at the moment?

Installation issues / Re: Ultimate Goal of LinuxMCE
« on: July 24, 2011, 12:28:08 pm »
When Plutohome were active, there was a commercial incentive and it was easy to install and use. I didn't even know what Linux was installed underneath, you just burned the two CDs, rebooted and it just worked. Dianemo seems to have the same philosophy.

I also have been following this project since PlutoHome times (back in 2005), but actually I can't remember that it was easy to install ...
Also at that time it was very hardware sensitive, and more often than not the automatic update mechanism was breacking the system.
I can't count the times I had to rebuild from scratch my server because update had scr**ed the sistem up ...
I can't also count the times I had to recompile kernel, drivers in order to fit Pluto in my system.

So I would't blame that much on the actual system, that is beeing worked on also to squash these kind of difficulties.

I agree with you that probably it won't ever be something to hand to an average Joe, but I think that the same apply to any system that deals with some internal complexity.
I don't think that you expect that deploying a KNX system should be an average Joe task ...

Probably I exchanged with him just a couple of posts, not that much to get a picture of the man.
Nevertheless these are news one would never hear.
For what is worth, my deepest sympathy to Richard's family.

Ciao Richard

Hi Thom and thanks for your reply
Both phones I tried are supposed to support AJAX, will check whether there are some settings to play with to get it working.

Thanks for your pointer and regards

Hi all
I'm using new proxy orbiter since some time now, and while it is working fine on any regular pc with regular browser I could not make it work on any mobile phone browser so far.

I tried it on Nokia e65 and also on BlackBerry Curve 8250), and the result is always the same: I'm able to load main screen but when it comes to push any button it won't work.
Browser pointer is visible and I can move it normally around, but clicking on any button has no effect at all.

Am I doing something wrong, or am I trying to do something that is absolutely not possible?

Thanks and regards

This is just to say that yesterday I finally was able to put my hands on an Eken M002 (Android 1.6), and I installed on it the Android Touch Orbiter.

It is working like a charm, so thank you Darren for your great job.

Shortly I should be able to test it on a HTC Wildfire (cross fingers, it will be my wife's new cell), and I will report back.

Thanks again

Does WebDT 366s support WPA/WPA2?

If so, does it out of the box or is it needed some hacking?

thanks and regards

video comes out from here ->

It is running weborbiter, but I know that darrenmason is working on an Android porting of the touch orbiter ->;u=38784

I know also that someone tried to configure it as a sip phone (sipdroid), but no idea about the result.

All in all, it looks like a very nice toy. I also ordered one, but it is sadly awaiting for customs clearance since a couple of weeks ...
