Sounds cool, may i ask what software you are going to use on your carputer?
Got a via epia m2 myself mounted in the car, running gentoo.
egalax touchscreen drivers works nice on the k301 monitor.
Would love to get linuxMCE running on it, if there was an easy way to add gpsdrive to one of the menu's or something,

You would need to get the correct module for the driver, precompiled for that kernel,
then it might even autoload, if not you might need to edit a startup script (init script)

Hi,
I believe you will get UI1 working, it's probably issues with your graphics drivers and UI2.
Go to the admin page, select Media Directors, then choose UI1.
Out of curiosity, what graphics board do you have.

I dont know if this helps,
but are you sure you let the image finish building, if you are unsure you could allways try the button called rebuild image.
In /usr/share/pluto/diskless you can delete the XX folder which represents the id of you computer, inside the image resides, i deleted the complete folder called 48
then went oni the pluto admin home page and on the Orbiter page i selected Rebuild image.

Ati works with ui2 that can be confirmed by me,
as webpaul1 states,
It workes with UI2, if you choose without alpha blending.
This is on my laptop with Ati mobility radeon 9700.
And when i tested it i can also confirm diskless boot works
, took about 10min to generate the image and another good 5 min to start the computer up.
Then it was the avwizard, and i was all set with my laptop

Hi,
As of my own experience it might help to add symbolic links to those folder /media/hd5a and /media/hd4a
place the symbolic links in /home/public/data/videos/
You should check that it has read permissions as well i guess.

Installation issues / Mixed user interface *ui2 and ui1

Hi!
I\ve recenlty got more the less everything working with linuxmce, but now ui2 is mixed up with something that looks like ui1,
Eg, i browse for movies in ui2 when i click play on my MCE remote, it goes into a all blue screen with three buttons, play, delete and one more,
then when i press play it goes into soemthing which probably is ui1 playlist?
And i cant get it to fullscreen, if i press the menu key, i can browse the ui2 menu\s whilst the movie is playing in the background, but i can\t go from there to fullscreen.
How can i fix this?
I would be thankfull for any help/tips/hints.
I\d hate reinstalling _agian_

running /usr/pluto/bin/AVWizard_Run.sh should help get the X running again i belive, but look at the above mentioned thread, i\ve tried to state how i got my nvidia 6600gt card running, after hours of banging my head in the wall.

I have had this error myself, but never on this computer, but on the first computer i tried 2.8ghz p4 machine it happened all the time, just after a couple of reboots or changes on the pluto admin page,
Can it be anything hardware related/drivers or similaer?

Hi
I\ve noticed many people on this forum are talking about GSOD, i guess they are meaning Gray screen of death, i\ve had this aswell wth linuxmce,
but i did NOT have to reinstall anything as many of you mention.
Remember the webinterface normally comes up, atleast every time i\ve had it.
But the web interface might take 10 minutes to start.
I guess, GSOD comes because of ui2 not working, try changing back to ui1 on the Media Director site on the pluto admin page.
Just a possible soloution other than reinstalling the whole thing.

My USBUIRT 0056 does not seem to be noticed under linuxMCE,
even tried to use it with lirc drivers from the pluto admin page, but that does not work either.
It\s working flawlessly in lirc on my other computer.
(Send,recieve,learn 0.7.1patched or 0.8.x)
I can only select USBUIRT 0038 on the pltuo admin page, guess the difference is that i got the one with extra transmitter.
Any id\s to change or something?

Hi, if the above didnt help out, check out the Why only vesa thread, i got it working tonight with my 6600gt cards, it was pretty easy, but not plug and play, only plug and pray.
As mentioned above i think i had the exact same problem.
