Users / Re: Importing old MythTV shows

I haven't done a gentoo -> lmce backup/restore of myth, but I have backed up my myth database and restored it on a clean lmce install, and it works fine.  lmce will show all your existing recordings in the 'video', together with dvd's and any other video content.  There's a filter at the bottom for 'tv shows' that filters out just the shows myth recorded.

Users / Re: LinuxMCE 1.0 Installer Torrent

The problem wasn't the size of the installer, it's tiny.  The problem was the installer was hardcoded to pull the actual 600mb of software from linuxmce.com, because I thought I'd be able to scale up gradually over time.  (oops :) ).  But don't worry, the new installer is working fine, and I'm doing a new build tonight too with only a few tweaks to work with it.  It takes about 6 hours to compile the LMCE source tree, so I'll test it in the morning and if I didn't screw anything up along the way, the link will be live tomorrow (Saturday).

I only built packages for Ubuntu 6.10.  I don't think it will run on anything else without getting under the hood.

It works only with Ubuntu 6.10.  You install Ubuntu like normal first, and then download the LMCE installer.  LMCE runs on desktop 11 (ie ctrl+alt+f11).  The LMCE installer gives you the option of starting ubuntu by default (and launching LMCE from the ubuntu menu), or launching lmce by default by interjecting itself in the ubuntu boot process, so if you don't have k/b or mouse attached, it will always boot up as a htpc.
