One thing I found with the rc1 was that the network settings were very important not to fiddle with prior to having access to the web admin which did appear to work in my case thanks bongowongo (@#$!#$% network manager).  Also to mention that do follow the 810 install guide still.  Asking people over IRC if one should apt-get upgrade apt-get dist-upgrade or just run the install resulted in 3 failed installs for myself.  Looking like this install is a winner though as the 2250s look like plug and play.  Wondering if analog firmware gets downloaded too as I see they get recognized better than 10.04 on bootup.

What changed between 10.04 to the rc1 version in regards to networking?  With Lucid I was able to change my network settings immediately to reflect my network and with the rc1 I have to accept the fact of obtaining an external ip via DHCP from my ISP for eth0.  I'm running the installer right now with the default two card interfaces file.  After it gets installed and the media directors are connecting I will want to change eth0 to have a IP address of 192.168.0.21.  How might this best be accomplished?

Burned the ISO and now have Kubuntu on the machine and it is running 2.6.27-17-generic i686 unknown

There is a taskbar icon that notifies me there are updates.  When I click it it tells me that I'm upgrading to an unsupported distribution.

Do I do a complete upgrade first or run the LinuxMCE full install shell from the desktop plasmoid?

Yeah I'm doing a burn of rc1 right now at x4.10 and enough of trying to do 10.04.  Pity it was quite robust but I couldn't ever make the MD's work.  The MD5 matched up with the download so a new DVD.iso will change things.

Users / MD unpacking linux-headers-2.6.32-33

Turning on my MD yields unpacking linux-headers-2.6.32-33 which occurs after it tries to download nvidia-glx-260 and a few other packages.  I have even learned how to do this by logging root on the diskless MD and apt-get install nvidia-glx-260 as the proper driver is needed by this MD otherwise I never get to see the red head as it stalls with AVWizard failed to setup X.  I never get to hear any beeps and can't enter the AVWizard period.  Tried holding down shift key through entire process.

How long does it take to unpack those packages?  Specifically the linux-headers-2.6.32-33 package.  Does it normally take a long time to unpack?  Started the MD after issuing dpkg --configure -a still not much output from the shell after booting.

The /var/log/pluto/nvidia-install.log file info:

Log into the /usr/pluto/diskless/45 and take chroot /usr/pluto/diskless/45 then issue dpkg --configure -a then apt-get install nvidia-glx.  To which I see the following output:

To do still get the 2250's working correctly.  Still need to download firmware but confident if I can only get the MD's working.  Going for a reboot...  Brb.

Okay and how to rsync a mirror for others.  I have two downloads active on different computers.  One from the main site and one from fibres tele-magic.co.uk site but both are looking like they will be awhile.  Can this be built from the svn repositories as I mention in my above post or is that page set for obsoleteness or could it use an update?  In the mean time I'll crash out for a few hours and hope the downloads complete the 3.3GB task.  Was a late night.

I seem to be having a the time of my life trying to just get the release candidate downloaded.  I've opted to try and check out from the repository following wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Installing_1004 but alas that failed on the 16th video wizard download for some reason.  Are there any other download links where the release candidate can be downloaded from?
