I also like that very much! And the best would be if you could customize the face.

Btw. yours would be Sarah? Maybe because of Eureka? ;)

Users / Re: Will this MD work?

The iGPU is the one on the CPU.
On a Core i3 that'll be an Intel HD 2000. Don't know if that's some sort of GMA but from what i read it's performing very well.
Only question left is if that's supported by LMCE?

Does anyone have his MD running on a Core i3?

Thanks,
Nicolai

Users / Will this MD work?

Hey guys,
I'm planning to order a new MD the next days and i was wondering if that'll work out of the box?

Intel DH67CFB3 Mainboard
Intel Core i3-2120 CPU
Mushkin 4 GB DDR3-1333

It might be oversized for video-playback but Console-Emulation is one of the key-features for me...

Thanks!

Hey guys,
this is a good point.

At the moment i'm using an IPCop-Firewall which my core has to pass to reach the internet.
Do you think that's too much effort or is the seperate firewall worth it's power consumption?

Thanks!

Where do you live that they don't sell Intel NICs?
I just can confirm that Intel NICs work very well with every OS. I have four in my ESX, two in my Core, one in my NAS, ...

Users / Re: Wall mounted light control - Any ideas

What i like very much is the new series of Thermokon.

Have a look:
http://www.thermokon.de/EN/room-operating-pannels/thanos--touch-room-operating-panel.html

For me they are perfect (except for the price) because i use Enocean but unfortunately (for you) they don't support zwave.

Wow, that sounds like you don't have another option than an Orbiter to turn on the light?
That was the first point i thought about when i implemented my home automation...

Think about you have an emergency and the medic is not able to help because you first have to reboot your core?!
I have a 4-Channel Enocean-Switch in every room. They are directly programmed to the main light and the blinds but also into my home automation.
This way i can make sure that the light goes on when i press the button. Even if my server is down.

All the best,

Andrew, to use a HDMI-Matrix you need to have a HDMI-Cable from one central point to all of the TVs? Do you know any converters to avoid this? I found some of them but all of them require two Cat-Cables per HDMI-Cable (which i don't have i could only spend one).

The IP-Based-Matrix you're talking about is VERY nice but unfortunately pretty expensive...

Users / Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710
June 21, 2011, 06:40:45 PM
Hey guys,
I am thinking about getting a Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710.
That one is using a small RF-Dongle but does anybody know if that works with LinuxMCE and the game emulators?
As long as there are drivers for Kubuntu 8.10 everything should be fine. Shouldn't it?

Thanks!

Users / Time for a new MD
June 21, 2011, 05:37:48 PM
Hey guys,
at the moment i'm only running a hybrid.
It's time to expand to another MD now and therefore i need some new Hardware.

So far i was thinking about buying an Atom 525 with Ion 2 which should be fine.
But now Thom implemented the new 16Bit game consoles and i'm not sure if the performance will be sufficient?
What do you guys think about that? And some day we also have the 64-Bit N64 and will the little Atom still be sufficient for that as well?

Edit: Thread has been shortened.

Thanks!

Would be perfect it it will be impleted although there is a freeze... ;)

One pretty stupid question:
The MD is the one to provide the performance for emulating the games isn't it?
I'm just asking because at the moment i am using a hybrid but i am planning to buy an additional MD.
Will a Dual-Core-Atom still be sufficient for SNES-Games? Maybe also for N64 as soon as 64-Bit consoles are implemented as well?

Thanks and regards,
Nicolai

Wow, you're incredible!

As there is a feature-freeze do you have a timeline in which version we can expect to see these new emulators?

Thanks!

Installation issues / Re: Back to the Basics
June 14, 2011, 01:20:33 PM
Hari, my SBs are not in sync to each other. So when you go from one room to another you notice a delay.
To be honest, my SBs are not yet integrated in LMCE but this shouldn't matter as LMCE is not doing anything else than telling the SB what to play?!

Cheers,
Nicolai

Hari, can you tell me how you achieved that?
My SBs are not in sync...

Andrew, i like the idea and looking forward to the new Orbiter!
I would love to see a screenshot on how you think an Orbiter should look like.
This could also be a draft painting or whatever but i guess/hope you'll include that into the post in 10 days?! ;)

So long,
Nicolai
