Is ethernet over coax an option for your situation? If you could link all rooms/zones together in this manner, you could make each room's components an individual zone for wireless to the end-devices.

Sorry, that was totally my bad, I should've clicked back to the OP & seen it was you, Andrew, not Thom. With all the cool stuff Thom's been crankin' out, I assumed it was him while reading the n-th page of replies  :-[

I'll come right out & state my caste...Linux programming know-how is an infant skill on my end, but I got plenty-a-dough to help you guys out.  ;)

So...back to the original premise...Thom, do you want me to set up a ChipIn for this project and all who are willing to contribute can do so to pay for your time?  :)

Yep you're both right, got ahead of myself (happens alot ;D). I've got two of the wireless routers en route w/ Verizon FiOS firmware on them, & had read that they'd done some proprietary measures with the Linux-based Busybox software. Looks like Actiontec released the source code for several of their routers for those who may need it (http://opensource.actiontec.com/#bhr).

Sorry for the confusion.

Hey guys, I'd be willing to pay for units & delivery of some MoCA (ethernet over coax) wired & wireless routers if a developer would be interested in getting them interfaced w/ LMCE. I'm looking at the Actiontec HME2200-02K ($150 for a pair on amazon at-present) for wired, and the Actiontec MI424WR (~$50 per pair on eBay for used units w/ Verizon labeling) for 802.11g wireless.

Glanced over some powerline ethernet adapters, but that screams 'nightmare' to me.
