Users / Re: Cover Art for TV shows?

lmce gets its cover art from amazon. I personally think that the entire sorting scheme is a bit cryptic, i have made a suggestion that sorting be handled in a similar manner as XBMC. Of all media centers it is the easiest to navigate imho. It even grabs individual episode information AND pictures for your tv shows. Just my 2 cents.

This issue and my MythTV HD playback woes are the only things that are preventing me from fully enjoying LMCE.

I agree, these are big hangups for me as well. Hope the release is coming along. Cheers.

Developers / Re: Customise interface to show only 'media' menu

I think he is referring to a having only music, video, pictures as options on the orbiter without the other features. Yes myth can handle these options alone but perhaps there are other reasons why bhsimon would rather use linuxmce. I personally prefer the look and feel of linuxmce over myth.  it would be nice if Linuxmce was a little more customizable on gui though. There are some rooms where i could really see the use in having only media options, also it would be nice to be able to remove certain options from the orbiter after the system is set up. For example it would be nice to remove the "reload router" or "reboot Hybrid" buttons so that inquisitive children do not reload the whole sytem over and over just for fun. I think it would also be a good idea to remove the "delete" button from the onscreen orbiter when selecting videos. I wouldn't want people erasing public videos on a whim. The project has lots of room for improvement, perhaps there is some nice person out there who is a graphic wiz that would like to volunteer to "pretty" up the gui?

I think the last time i tried to have music playing in multiple rooms in the house, the audio was way out of sync (very annoying) and the audio would stop after the first song in the play list. Can anyone confirm it is functioning now?

Displaying the correct aspect ratio is may more important than being able to zoom IMOP.

Sorry, i guess i wasn't clear. I too was referring to correct auto-aspect ratio, not zoom.

Might i inquire why aspect ratio is not a priority? I know that there are numerous poeple, here and on the pluto forums who are experiencing issues with widescreen monitors and wrong aspect ratios for DVDs. It seems that this feature would benefit quite a few people and wouldn't be too much of a headache to implement.

If zoom is planned for 1.1 how about auto aspect ratio detection?

This feature is on the top of my list at the moment. Any word from the developers on this issue?

I would also like to take the chance to thank the whole Linuxmce team for all the hard work they have been doing. There are a lot of people out there that come to the forums simply to complain, this is a sad thing. I for one appreciate all that you guys are doing. Cheers.

Nice, i will have to check that out later. Thanks for the hard work. Cheers.

@cckrobinson, if you get the usbuirt and the external ir emitter it should be able to control your receiver. I got usbuirt and it works really well.

I am very happy with the gyro remote and wireless keyboard. I have not had any issues with them so far. I know the same company also makes a MCE version that is shaped like a regular remote control but also works like an air mouse. I might pick one of those up too. Cheers.

@ cckrobinson The message had something to do with the overlays so i assumed it was something to do with running alpha blending. Thanks for the tip ;)

I too was attracted to linuxmce (originally pluto) because it had the capability to do so much more than any other HTPC/Homeautomation software around. However, even though all the other homeautomation, security, telephone, lighting, features are very important to me, most important thing of all in a media center is playing movies, listening to music, looking at photos, watching/recording tv, etc. I don't feel that the project has reached a point yet that focus should be shifted away from the media center functions. Once all of the "Core" media center features are functioning perfectly (or at least close to that) then I am all for expanding the project as far as it can go. Until then i say focus on perfecting the Media-Center experience. Just my two cents.

Hmm, i tried the suggested fix and after a reboot it showed a black screen error. Might have a go at it again later today. Cheers.
