So when i start myth tv, it will randomly switch between watch tv, recordings and a number one on screen.
it will then ask me if i want to reset the backend, i say yes, it then says it can not connect to the back end.

X10 CM15A is not sending or receiving commands to X10 devices, I have tested this on the core and a netMD and got the same results.
I did a router reload and tried a reboot, I have a trac ticket open with some clips from the log.

in my Home theater I have front and rear lights, now i have them both hooked up to GE Zwave dimmers
I have one dimmer at the entrance to the room and would like it if i could touch the switch and have LMCE switch the front and rear lights on dependent on time of day ETC, but for now just the basics.

I have created two events in respond to events

when device = rear lights = 1 then front lights on
when device = rear lights = 0 then front lights off
i then reload and test it out and nothing, I have a Aeon Zstick 2 and a Aeon Labs MiniMote followed the wiki on SIS/SUC

I have a Trane Zwave thermostat http://www.amazon.com/Trane-Remote-Energy-Management-Thermostat/dp/B002BA5VVU

I have included it in the LMCE network with the Aeon Labs MiniMote, my controller is a Aeon Labs Zstick2
if I log on to the admin site and go to schedule I can not select my device as there is nothing listed

Ok so i got a CM19a and want it to work in LMCE

so first i did a search and fount a driver:

1 Go to your terminal, and cd into that extracted directory.
2 As per the instructions in the software's readme file, run the following commands:

    sudo make
    sudo make install
    sudo modprobe x10-cm19a

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
    Then add to the end of the file:

    # causes the custom cm19a driver to fail
    blacklist lirc_atiusb
    blacklist ati_remote

Type in a terminal:

    sudo rmmod lirc_atiusb
    sudo rmmod ait_remote

sudo gedit /etc/udev/rules.d/40-permissions.rules
     Add the following to the end of the file:

    KERNEL=="cm19a0″, MODE="0666″

reboot

then type sudo chmod 0666 /dev/cm19a0

You're done, yay! Now it's time to test it out. Remember, this driver only provides an interface to the module. You will have to write your own software / scripts / cron jobs to make it useful.The interface works by sending strings to it. To turn on A1, we send +A1 to it. To turn off C4, we send -C5 to it. In practice, type in the following command to turn on A1:

    echo +A1 > /dev/cm19a0

I found all this info so i'm no expert if you need help you will need to ask at the above forum.

Now i have a working drive I have now got to get LMCE to work with it any help would be greate

ok so i go to web admin and try to run a update and a page comes up with  " /usr/pluto/bin/getxmls" in it and sets there so i ssh to the core and type  sudo /usr/pluto/bin/getxmls
and i get "see below" if im doing it wrong please let me know but it just seem like i get errors, what is the right way to update LinuxMCE, yeah i know sudo apt-get update & upgrade but i tried that before and had to reinstall.
or should i download the latest snapshot every so often to get up to date

Does any one know why there is no stand alone Ubuntu orbiter like we have for Windows.

upon a reinstall of LMCE i install Hulu, after a restart and a complete regen Hulu reports there is no flash so i follow the wiki http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Installing_Flash there download link did not work only flash 10 is available from adobe, so i tried the wiki with flash 10 but it did not work.

I  was wondering if i could integrate my UPS into the core, so if i have a power out the core would send shutdown commands over ssh to over systems and shutdown its self.

I might be able to create some sort of script but i have no idea how to make it work with the core.
If you have any pointers on scripting like this then please help

Since i swapped interfaces in webadmin i can no longer see media tomb on the network.

Ok the forum is scatted with "I detected a new plug and play device: DCS-5300(D-LINK / IP CAMERAS) should I use it" but i have not found a fix or any way to find out what it is.
It pops up around 5 maybe ten times a day, i don't what to say do not use and never show me again, I want to know what it is.

WebAdmin under unknown devices has nothing listed

Ok I'm working on some documentation:

1.   To make it easier for everyday people to install LinuxMCE.
2.   Consolidate the tutorials and organize them.
3.   A place to track tasks, team members, and so on.

I'm using my own site and domain to put this together once done I will post a link if everybody likes it then we can transfer it or link to it.
Can we make a quick edit to the boot menu as in get rid of it, so it starts the install straight away with default values as in username password, once installed it starts the LinuxMCE install script.
So all a user has to do is put in the disk and wait for the AV Wizard, If no one has the time to do this could you point me in the right direction and I will try to do it

I have tried to install LinuxMCE 8.10, 16 times in two days and I'm now staring at the AV wizard for the 17th time, I have to select DVI/HDMI 720p, even though my TV is 42in 1080i HDMI, anything I try just won't work I get blank screen.
I cannot get audio at all, I have tried selecting optic and analog all though I did get audio once when I selected analog and yes I am using and optic connection to my AV receiver, I'm am not getting audio right now.
I'm now looking at the next wizard the one that says "if you can see and hear me, select the 'next` button and press enter"
No I don't see her and I don't hear her, I have a black box where the video is supposed to be and the  whole screen seems flash every so often.

Gonna wait 15 minutes and see what happens,
Any help would be excellent
