Installation issues / Upgrading from 10.04 to 16.04
« on: July 28, 2017, 09:04:58 pm »
Hi all,

after a long time, i'm back and would like to upgrade from 10.04 to 16.04.

Is there a tool where i can preserve the configurations, like phone lines, extensions, etc, or do i need to install from scratch and configure all again?

With best regards,

Paulo

Installation issues / pluto-dcerouter kept back on upgrade.
« on: June 11, 2013, 05:35:41 pm »
Hyia,
during the last apt-get upgrade, i got the following:

The following packages have been kept back:
  gvfs gvfs-backends linux-generic linux-headers-generic linux-image-generic pluto-dcerouter
The following packages will be upgraded:
  libx11-6 libx11-data libx11-dev libxcb-render0 libxcb-shape0 libxcb-shm0 libxcb-xv0 libxcb1 libxcb1-dev libxext-dev
  libxext6 libxi6 libxrender1 libxt-dev libxt6 libxtst6 libxxf86vm1

Shouldn't pluto-dceroute be upgraded?

Best regards,

Installation issues / DHCP server not starting - SOLVED
« on: June 02, 2013, 06:25:13 pm »
Hya,
yesterday, i did an update and upgrade, and since then, dhcp is having problems.
The dhcp server fails on start.
Was anything changed?
Best regards.

Found the problem:
error in syslog:
dhcpd: Open a socket for LPF: Permission denied
The bug was recognized and fixed for 12.04
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+...107686> but
not for 10.04. It may have to do with the server change; with 10.04 the
dhcp server is 'dhcp3-server', and with 12.04 it is 'isc-dhcp-server'.
Anyway, to fix edit:

/etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin.dhcpd3

#FROM:
network inet raw,
network packet packet,

#TO:
network inet raw,
network packet packet,
network packet raw,

Then reload apparmor:
sudo service apparmor reload

And then the dhcp server will now start:
sudo service dhcp3-server start

Users / Asterisk SCCP 7970 Buttons.
« on: March 03, 2013, 09:36:19 pm »
Hya,
I do have 4 phone extensions at home, 2 of them on SCCP channel, with 2 Cisco 7970 and 2 SIP on siphones. I could alter the buttonconfig table, so to make one of the 7970 have 2 line buttons (one for it's extension and the second for the other 7970 extension).
I would like to also have buttons 3 and 4 of this 7970 assigned to the other 2 sip extensions and button 5 to my doorbell?
I did enter the 2 sip extensions in the buttonconfig table, but the 7970 only shows the first 2 buttons assigned to the sccp extensions.
Does anyone knows how to have buttons 3 and 4 assigned to the sip extensons and button 5 to my doorbell?
Thx in advance.

Users / Asterisk AST_CONFIG - lost entries
« on: March 01, 2013, 11:54:58 pm »
Hya,
today i discovered that some directives i've inserted into the asteriks ast_table were lost, after an update (don' t know which).
All the entries regarding NAT, EXTERNIP, LOCALNET and so on, to enable remote extensions simply disapeared.
As i had the external extension working, and after for coincidence updated ios and softphone i did for the last four weeks try to fix the problem on the softphone configs, with not luck, until i looked into the asterisk config to discover my directives were not there.
Would be nice if the updates do not delete the custom entries.
Best regards.

Installation issues / LMCE as complete security system.
« on: October 17, 2012, 02:51:20 am »
Hi,
i did purchase a 20.000 sq feet land yard and will build a new house. I'm planning to use lmce as the heart and core of this new house and also be the security controller.
Which would be the best technology integrated with lmce to build up the security, with perimeter and motion sensors, alarm panels and lightning, to have it secure? KNX, Z-wave, X-10?
Help are very welcome.
TIA,
Paulo

Installation issues / Use LMCE directory structure - other?
« on: September 21, 2012, 12:48:32 am »
Hya,
my raid 5 array, with all my media, which worked on lmce 8.10 was also added to lmce 10.04, and i defined to use LMCE directory structure, as used under 8.10.
The strange is that an "other" directory is created and so there is no more public and private files.
Is it normal for 10.04?

Developers / Missing asterisk directives.
« on: September 16, 2012, 03:23:26 pm »
Hya,

installing my sip line (voipcheap), i did note it did not register.
So, looking into the database, table ast_config, i noted that some directives were missing.

Code: [Select]
83 0 18 0 sip.conf general alwaysauthreject yes
85 0 18 0 sip.conf general nat                        yes
86 0 60 0 sip.conf general externhost        mydyndns.homeunix.org
87 0 5 0 sip.conf general externrefresh        5
88 0 60 0 sip.conf general localnet               192.168.80.0/255.255.255.0
89 0 9 0 sip.conf general allow                g729
90 0 10 0 sip.conf general allow                g723
91 0 101 0 sip.conf general register                pwollny:XXXXXXXXX@sip.voipcheap.com/2062036594
The 83 is very inportant for fail2ban and 85-88 to have the NAT.
I also would like to know which are the rules for cat_metric and var_metric.

Anyway, my sip line register, but i keep getting
Code: [Select]
> doing dnsmgr_lookup for 'sip.voipcheap.com'
       > doing dnsmgr_lookup for 'sip.voipcheap.com'
       > doing dnsmgr_lookup for 'sip.voipcheap.com'
       > doing dnsmgr_lookup for 'sip.voipcheap.com'
       > doing dnsmgr_lookup for 'sip.voipcheap.com'
in the asterisk verbose, i can place calls, but no sound incoming and outgoing and receiving a call is rejected with "no service message" in my asterisk.

Way to solve it?

TIA

As i understand, voipcheap is registered, my DID id working (routing to my voipcheap account), but no incoming.
Outgoing is also wrong.
I'm not being able to find out what is wrong. Is there someome more experienced than me that could help?
Under 8.10, it worked like a charm, now, is working with no charm at all :(

Users / Radio on 10.04 .m3u?
« on: September 13, 2012, 04:56:26 pm »
Hya,

is file type .m3u supported under the radio scenario?
Tested .pls and works well, but .m3u does not play.
Example: http://www.radioswisspop.ch/live/mp3.m3u
If supported, what is to be done?

BR,

Paulo
