Developers / JSON

Apart from the JSON Plugin (see wiki), I've added a new provider for JSON data from LinuxMCE to the outside world.

In case anyone out there wants to read their LinuxMCE data from a browser frontend or similar, have a look at https://github.com/posde/json

In case anyone wants to buy me some coffee, after I received the GoDaddy invoice over 35USD for another year of linuxmce.org and linuxmce.com registration, feel free :)

I have created a small test script to check for TVs on the HDMI-CEC string. I'd appreciate if others with HDMI CEC enabled MDs (mostly Raspberry Pis) check it out.

You must install cec-utils first!

Thanks.

Morning,

I propose a new entry for pluto.conf, namely IgnoreNetworking - whenever IgnoreNetworking is set to 1, all network setup scripts will exit without changing anything. For people who just want LinuxMCE to be part of there existing network, who can live without auto-setup for networking devices etc, this might be a good step.

Thoughts?

Good afternoon,

I will be available Tuesday til Thursday mornng in the above area, should anyone have the need for onsite assistance. All I ask for is a place to park a 26' long vehicle, and have a 110V outlet I can run my A/C on (requires about 20amps).

Right now I am in Quakertown, PA, and I'll need to be at the Newark Airport on Thursday around noonish.

The linuxmce.org and linuxmce.com domain have been registered (and paid for by Aaron B) with GoDaddy for quite some time. Unfortunately, every credit card expires at one point or another, the connected email address was no longer valid, so nobody knew that some payments were due.

After help from Aaron and hari things are back to normal. We will now foot the bill for the yearly renewal, but have much better control over it as well.

Everything should be back to normal.

Developers / QML Development for qOrbiter
April 06, 2016, 10:34:46 AM
Thanks to golgoj4 we finally have a nice wiki page detailing how to do qOrbiter QML development.

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/QOrbiter

has all the details you need.

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/QOrbiter#Example

has a couple of lines of code to get you a head start in development. The good thing about QML dev'ing for qOrbiter is, that no compilation is needed. Your JavaScript and HTML knowhow should help you move forward.

Let the skins roll in!

Hi,

our server was not reachable due to a huge power outage in The Netherlands. Things are back to normal for us, however it seems others in NL are still experiencing outages.

Thanks to Uplink, we now have a JSON Plugin available inside of LinuxMCE as well. For details, please visit http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/JSON_Plugin

Thanks again Uplink for your help, in getting Dianemo's code working for LinuxMCE. It is very much appreciated.

There has been a change in a central header file. This change effects all binary packages. The next set of upgrades will contain a lot of files, and you can expect some crazy postinst madness. Beware of when you do the upgrade.

Due to the overwhelming spam we've received even with some spam checking, I decided to remove the right for anonymous ticket creation. Whoever wants to help us by creating bug reports, please send me a PM with the output of

htpasswd -mn <the-login-name-you-want-for-trac>

You will be prompted for your password, and the output will be added to the trac user database. Maybe ochorocho is able to link the forum's userbase to trac like we already have with the wiki. But atm the above is the way to go.

Thank you for your understanding.
