Users / Edit sources.list
November 26, 2007, 01:28:46 PM
Hi!
I tried to install ntfs-config using the Terminal to be able to get access to my external HD (USB). I always get the error message that it cannot be found although it is part of the universe repository.
Could I edit my sources.list and add some sources I definitly know ntfs-config is in or isn't it recommended to do so because linuxmce could have problems with that?
Thanks!

Hi!
I just set up my LinuxMCE using the AVWizard. I have my TV connected with S-Video and chose PAL-B (also tried the other PALs) and when AVWizard is finished I always have a Video Refresh of 60 instead of 50. PAL B, C, D, G, H, I, K, L, N, also called PAL-50 (!), should have a Video Refresh of 50, not 60! Does anyone know where to change this after having installed and configured my LinuxMCE?
Thanks!

Hi!

Yesterday I tried to install LinuxMCE with the DVD-Installer and had problems with the GRUB (Error 18). This was because my BIOS doesn't support the size of my HD (500 GB) and the BIOS-Updates on the manufacturer's site (Gigabyte) are *.exe-files only, so I don't know how to update my BIOS.

Then I read that I have to set up a boot-partition (about 100 MB, ext2) at the beginning of my HD and then it should work. So I have to go the "2 CD way" to have the option of partitioning.
As I'm new to Linux, could someone briefly explain the steps to set up those partitions? Would be great!

Thanks!
