Users / Xine features in LinuxMCE? A/V sync / zoom
« on: June 03, 2007, 09:57:55 pm »
I couldn't find a way to adjust A/V sync and/or zoom into my media with LinuxMCE. 'z' didn't seem to work. Is it supported? Can I enable it somehow? I skimmed through xine.conf but couldn't find anything yet. I used to use these features a lot with mplayer.

Users / Good remote for LinuxMCE?

I'm gonna buy a new remote. Any suggestions what would be the best buy for LinuxMCE?

Hi all,

I've got Linux MCE 1.1 beta 2 set up. It's recognizing my other PC's and indexing my media files. However, as soon as I try to play a movie file, I hear sound but get no image (black screen). If I right-click the cursor shows for a split second but I don't get the Linux MCE user interface. So I'm unable to stop it from playing the file and go back to the main menu. This problem (of being unable to stop and go back) also occurs when I listen to music.

I'm suspecting it might have something to do with my videocard settings. I'm using an Nvidia 7600GS. Linux MCE doesn't seem to complain about my drivers. I'm able to run the video tests. (The spinning cube with composite and masking works fine windowed and fullscreen.)

Anyone have a clue what this problem might be?

Installation issues / Ati Radeon 9800 issues
« on: May 29, 2007, 12:45:59 am »
I somehow managed to get LinuxMCE 1.1 beta running on Kubuntu 7.04 Feisty. But there are performance issues and the installation didn't go without problems. (During installation LinuxMCE decided to change the network settings to 192.168.0.1 even though I specified a static IP address and told it not to become my DHCP server.)

This is my hardware setup:

P4 2.8Ghz
Ati Radeon 9800
 + flatpanel on CRT
 + PAL television on SVIDEO
Hauppauge PVR 250
 + remote

At the moment I can't seem to get my Radeon 9800 to work properly. Before installing Linux MCE I got the fglrx drivers running under Kubuntu with a dual head setup. (But without proper hardware acceleration.) But the fglrx drivers don't seem to work well with LinuxMCE. I was able to get it running with the drivers that LinuxMCE configured for me automatically. (Is that the default Ati driver??) But performance is unacceptably bad.

Can anyone share how to set up LinuxMCE with an Ati radeon (or similar) card properly?
