Users / Cant start MediaTomb - MySql error?
« on: November 12, 2012, 11:23:20 am »
Been i while since i used my MediaTomb, and it no longer shows on my network.
Tried to to restart it,
Code: [Select]
sudo /etc/init.d/mediatomb restartgives:
Quote
* Restarting upnp media server mediatomb                                                                                                                  [ OK ]

But log shows an error:
Quote
2012-11-12 11:15:24    INFO: Loading configuration from: /etc/mediatomb/config.xml

Webadm page for MediaTomb localhost port 49153(as stated in my config) gives a 505: internal server error.

Any pointers much appreciated :)

Users / [SOLVED]partial loss of internet on internal card
« on: August 19, 2012, 07:56:05 pm »
A few weeks ago, i started noticing the internet being unstable on my tv(Sony Bravia). Few days later all my WLan clients started disconnecting and reconnecting to my WLan, had internet while it was connected.
Now all my wired clients have lost internet, wlan still the same(almost useless with the constant disc.).
Its a 1004 hybrid, internet is fine on the core. The net is on its own net card, to a router(Jensen NL 1005 v2 http://www.jensenscandinavia.com/products.asp?Search=3&Language=English) then divided into another router and a wlan AP(D-Link DAP-1353 http://www.dlink.co.in/products/?pid=142).

« on: September 19, 2011, 03:04:34 pm »
Strange, created a folder with sudo, then tried to log in with sftp. And then i could create a folder....
Not sure if its the "sudo" folder or not, but now i can write stuff on ~public :)

confusing but fixed :P Thx for the reply!

edit
ooops my bad! that was ~/public, not /home/public/

So still no dice, will try from a Windoze comp when i get my hands on one.

Users / adding media to "public" folder
« on: September 15, 2011, 05:45:29 pm »
got 1004, and cant add my files to public folder. Or am i just going at it the wrong way......

Cant log in via ftp to add, can only log in and write to my own home folders.
smb is the same, cant authenticate. username and password doesent lett me logg inn.
and when i go to desktop on the core, i have no permission to write to public folder. So is there a correct permission setting for public folders(subfolders)? Or is there some other settings im missing?

Thx for all good answers, landed on access point outside the box:

Better range, and my old Wlan card had no N-draft support. And i can set up multiple SSID(PSP, DSI and portable computers don't support the same settings), with MAC address filtering.
Now i just need to get my on-board lan card to work for my internal net :P

Thx again! :)

Users / [SOLVED] No LAN / Internal net

Installed 810, on gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 motherboard

Quote
http://www.gigabyte.eu/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3753#sp

External net on pci-card works well, onboard internal does not.

Tried to switch internal/external, then external did not work. So im guessing the onboard chip does not agree with linuxmce/kubuntu.

Onboard LAN chip:

Quote
Realtek 8111D/E chip (10/100/1000 Mbit)

So how can i change driver, and can i only change driver without changing any settings in LMCE? Or do i only change something in LMCE?
So where do i go from here? :P

thx in advance!

Users / [SOLVED] 2 LAN + 1 WLAN. Wlan dont work
« on: August 27, 2011, 11:46:27 am »
Im trying to set up a Core, and got the external/internet to work on the box, but it wont rout it further.
Got the onboard to deal with internal net, and added a PCI-Wlan card.
But non of the internal nets seem to work, and cant realy find any settings for the wlan part.

So my question is, can i set mu core up to be a wlan router? or do i need a separate Wlan router?

thx

Try the following snapshot
still no links for me.com uxmce.iptp.org/snapshots/LinuxMCE-8.10-24346-i386.iso

I installed it succesfully.

Tried DVD snapshots 8.10.24255 and 8.10.24189, but they did not do it for me :) But will try 24346 this evening, or tomorrow. Thx for the tip :)
