Installation issues / Re: Installation fails: error on device sr0

The hardware I am using is a mini tower HP D330.

I tried 10.04 and it doesn't get past the bootloader, just says it can't find the kernel.  Finally got the Kubuntu to install, now just trying to figure out how to get the rest to work.  Different problem, so I'll post it in a different thread.

I have had the same issue where I was getting "i/o error, device sr0" and then give some random block numbers.

I have burned and re-burned dvd's, tried installing from a USB flash drive, downloading a different version and all gave me the same results.

I finally on a whim one time hit F6 at the install menu for more options.  I think I hit it twice and a menu popped up.  I selected the option for 'noacpi', hit enter, escape, enter and the install worked.

Hope this resolution helps someone else resolve their installation problems.
