Users / Re: HAI Omni IIe on LinuxMCE 1004
« on: April 07, 2013, 04:28:26 am »
I figured out how to add motion sensors under security as well as lights and all are controlled by Omni II RS232.  My question now is, how does LinuxMCE know which sensor is which or which light is which?  I must need to put some information in one of the fields to identify the child objects.

I appreciate any help.

When I get this working, I am more than willing to create a wiki for the next newbie. :)

Regards,

Steve

Users / Onscreen Orbiter Volume Controls
« on: April 07, 2013, 03:57:58 am »
Hello,

I have installed LinuxMCE 1004 and managed to get a media director up and running, connected my Marantz SR receiver that uses IR codes to a USB UIRT, and created a new template in the AV wizard to control the receiver.  The "test code" buttons work to increase and decrease the volume.  I have UI1 as the Onscreen Orbiter of the media director.  I can play music.  When I use my mouse to open the "remote" of the Onscreen Orbiter I can pause and play the audio file.  I cannot get the volume controls or mute to work using my mouse by clicking on the volume up or volume down of the "remote".  I have rebooted the entire system and it still doesn't work.

Am I expecting something that LinuxMCE cannot do or is there a mistake in my configuration somewhere?

Regards,

Steve

Thank-you posde, I did see that post you mention but couldn't follow it.  Unfortunately, I'm too much of a newbie to figure out what to do.  When I go to admin web site > devices > interfaces the only security tab is see is at the top which has alerts log, mode changes log, status, and view cameras as options.  Can you give me a few more instructions on where to look to add the sensors?

Thanks,

Steve

Users / HAI Omni IIe on LinuxMCE 1004

Hello,

I've installed LinuxMCE 1004 and it has detected my Omni IIe panel through the RS232 connection.  Unfortunately, I don't have an idea how to configure the rest of LinuxMCE to integrate with my Omni IIe panel.  Would someone be able to walk me through how to have set up the sensors of the system within LinuxMCE?

Thanks,

Steve

Fabulous!  That worked.  I had it set to 16:9, does that not work for "widescreen" devices like an iPod?

Cheers,

Users / LinuxMCE 810 Web Orbiter 2.0 Buttons Link to a Blank Screen
« on: July 04, 2012, 03:36:12 pm »
Hello,

I am attempting to get a Web Orbiter working for workstations and Ipods using Web Orbiter 2.0.  I am able to login and view the Home screen with the buttons.  When I select a button, I am presented with a black/blank screen.  I am able to navigate back to the Home screen by selecting Home at the bottom.  I should also note that the Onscreen Orbiter works fine.  Any suggestions where I have gone wrong?

Thanks,

Steve

Users / LinuxMCE-810 RC1 Internal Hard Drive Array Permission Issues
« on: February 02, 2012, 04:57:49 pm »
Hello,

I am running LinuxMCE-810 RC1 and I am a newbie to LinuxMCE.  I have it installed on a typical internal hardrive.  I am able to access and write to this hard drive across the network.

In addition, I have a large internal array of hard drives that I want to utilize as a fileshare across my network.  I have created Device #34: DISK_0_1 (sdb1) on dcerouter-C and chose "public" rather than "LinuxMCE's directory structure".  My difficulty is that I am not able to write to this array despite being able to write to the internal hard drive mentioned above.

I must be missing something simple.  Can someone offer a suggestion so that I don't go messing things up?

Thanks!

Steve

Installation issues / 8.10 UI2 Not Available
« on: November 15, 2011, 02:54:23 am »
Hello,

I am attempting my first installation of LinuxMCE 8.10 and have it installed and working with an onscreen orbiter on a hybrid server.  I have an Nvidia 9600 GT video card.  I would like to try to change the skin for the orbiter but the UI2 is not available as an option.

Is there a wizard I need to re-run?  Or, do I have to reinstall and pay closer attention to some of the initial installation choices?

Thanks,

Steve

Users / Re: Static IP LinuxMCE Server to Static IP SIP Trunk Provider
« on: October 14, 2011, 07:35:45 am »
Thanks,

I did try the wiki.  I ultimately discovered I didn't need that approach found in the wiki and simply needed to configure within FreePBX.  My system was actually working and responding to incoming calls by playing the "ss-noservice" message.  Here is a CLI output:

-- Executing [XXXXXXXXXXX@from-sip-external:1] NoOp("SIP/69.60.226.14-08afe638", "Received incoming SIP connection from unknown peer to XXXXXXXXXX") in new stack
    -- Executing [XXXXXXXXXXX@from-sip-external:2] Set("SIP/69.60.226.14-08afe638", "DID=XXXXXXXXXXX") in new stack
    -- Executing [XXXXXXXXXXX@from-sip-external:3] Goto("SIP/69.60.226.14-08afe638", "s|1") in new stack
    -- Goto (from-sip-external,s,1)
    -- Executing [s@from-sip-external:1] GotoIf("SIP/69.60.226.14-08afe638", "0?from-trunk|XXXXXXXXXXX|1") in new stack
    -- Executing [s@from-sip-external:2] Set("SIP/69.60.226.14-08afe638", "TIMEOUT(absolute)=15") in new stack
-- Channel will hangup at 2011-10-14 04:26:11 UTC.
    -- Executing [s@from-sip-external:3] Answer("SIP/69.60.226.14-08afe638", "") in new stack
    -- Executing [s@from-sip-external:4] Wait("SIP/69.60.226.14-08afe638", "2") in new stack
    -- Executing [s@from-sip-external:5] Playback("SIP/69.60.226.14-08afe638", "ss-noservice") in new stack
    -- <SIP/69.60.226.14-08afe638> Playing 'ss-noservice' (language 'en')

Does anyone understand why incoming calls won't go to the IVR which I configured?

Thanks,

Steve

Users / Static IP LinuxMCE Server to Static IP SIP Trunk Provider
« on: October 12, 2011, 03:57:05 am »
Hello,

I have started my first attempt at creating a LinuxMCE box.  I am running LinuxMCE-810 RC1.  My difficulty is in attempting to configure FreePBX.  I live in a rural area where I am fortunate enough to have a local provider that will provide a SIP trunk with a local phone number.  Unfortunately, Vianet, my local provider, is not one of the templates.

Vianet provided me with an IP address of their server and said I do not require a username or password because I too have a static IP.  They said all I have to do is send my trunk to their static IP.

I tried to edit /usr/pluto/bin/create_amp_vianet.pl but I couldn't make enough sense out of it.

I am hoping someone could give me a little direction on how to set up a SIP trunk to point to a static IP address that does not require a username or password.

Thank-you in advance,

Steven
