Hi Guys

Attached is the lspci output and Xorg.1.log file.

And I can confirm that I do not have a xorg.conf file.

I did a fresh install, rebooted, waited for the screen above to apear, I clicked on KDE, did the SB upgrade, rebooted, and no output on any screen devices :(

I managed to ssh into the box, and it would seem that even iptables did not run.

I tried forcing AVWizardWrapper, and pressing 1-0 still nothing.

Tried another fresh install with a Nvidia card after this, I will let you guys know

Hi Guys

I like the idea of donating for a specific feature.
Although it might/will benefit everybody, donating to have a feature top of the todo list, I think is worth while.

For example:
Improving the build process so that we can upgrade to newer versions of Ubuntu easier, which in-turn allows the system to support more hardware.
MD on screen display/interface(if we get people with the look, we might get more interest in the system and therefore more people to donate/work on it)

I would love to spend time working on the syste, but I simply do not have the time at the moment to be able to help :(

But for the people that have the time, this might help make it either worth their time or be able to distract them to add a feature the is important to someone else.

Anyway, I would love to hear more from the guys that are actually working on the system dev wize at the moment.

Hi Jamo

Yes its SB, I would like to use the onboard if possible to reduce power usage.

When I do the SB stuff from the wiki, then I stop getting any stuff on the screen even during the text boot section.
I have tried waiting for the boot to complete and then pressed 1-0  about 10 seconds apart, but it did nothing.

Hi L3mce

I did a fresh install off the previously mentioned snap. and after the reboot I got the following screen.
http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad184/PreDeToR_/LinuxMCE/photo2.jpg
http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad184/PreDeToR_/LinuxMCE/photo1.jpg

As you can see it uses only a small section of the screen and goes straight to the "if you can see and hear me" video.

I then popped into terminal and tried running the AVWizard and AVWizard Wrapper, I can get/set the settings there, but it doesnt seem to save them.

Is there any logs or other information that I can give you?

Guys Any suggestions?

Hi L3Me

snap 20120523004925983.

System details where attached on the previous post, i put the whole dmesg there.
CPU: i5 2400
MB:  asus p8H77-M
I did the Hybrid install after booting into the live disk to make sure it can see my hdd.

Currently I have my TV (HDMI) and my screen (RGB) both going into standby even on the boot section after doing the suggested updates for SB

Do you think is might be a problem with the backport? As it does install fine, I just dont get the AV Wizzard?

Must I grab the snap from today and try again?

Hi L3mce

I know SB is still not fully supported, but I had to try my luck :)
Install goes fine, but when AV Wizzard is supposed to come up, it seems to pop into KDE. Asking it to rewboot and run avwizard does the same thing.

I then did the SB update as suggested in the thread, and when I reboot i get a completely black screen and nothing seems to happen :(

Any ideas/suggestions on things I can try?

Hi Gents

Just a quick silly question.

What part of the OS upgrade is taking so much time, is it the kernel/system hooks, is it testing?

The reason I ask is that MCE is very far behind Ubuntu, meaning we support less hardware.
Is there anyway we can optimize the upgrade process?

Regards
DAnie

Hi Gents

Silly question I know, but how much of the system is hooked into the kernel or specifically the version of ubuntu?

The reason I ask this is that it seems to be a pain to upgrade to a newer version of ubuntu, I understand that testing needs to be done to make sure
things work as they should and fix the bugs that are there.

Is there anyway that we can speed up the process of upgrading to the newest version of ubuntu when it comes out? (Esp for newer hardware support)

Regards
DAnie

I totally agree with l3mce.

You guys are all doing great work and it is really showing in the system, I can wait to test out 10.04 on my new system :)

Where I will hopefully be able to test and give some feedback on.

You guys are doing some amazing stuff!!!

Try the usb-creator-gtk and let us know how good it works out.

Thanks posde,
My new hardware should be arriving in the next week or two, then I will be able to do some tests on the new installer
and system :)

Cant wait, I'm really excited to do an upgrade, with the new system I also wanna start using the home automation

Hi l3mce

How much work would it be to make this a bootable USB image?

Im sure most people are running systems with a USB port, which will allow us to install even quicker?
