Is QML similar to XAML(I'm guessing the Qt parallel to it)?
Rule #1 - Be Patient - Rule #2 - Don't ask when, if you don't contribute - Rule #3 - You have coding skills - LinuxMCE's small brother is available: http://www.agocontrol.com

New install with the latest DVD, from March 1st: LinuxMCE-8.10-22812-i386.iso
Finally got everything installed and working and ran Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
pluto-orbiter: Depends: pluto-avwizard (>= 2.0.0.44) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: pluto-avwizard (< 2.0.0.45) but it is not going to be installed
PreDepends: xine-ui but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages
#### Package pluto-orbiter failed (/tmp/tmp.kGzVe19952) - We wait 10sec and try again - to stop retrying press Ctrl-C.

For what ever reason pressing 5 (svideo) seems to let me into the menus regardless of connection or connected device.

That board works fine.
Try the hdmi port.
I actually got it working on the DVI. Pulled it off by using a dual feed monitor! (Both DVI and vga). This let me edit the AVwizard, and set for the DVI.
btw, I tried the numbers thing, and it didn't have any impact whatsoever.

Ran an apt-get update and upgrade and rebooted for hell of it... ran again and got the same error.

Also, out of curiosity, what's the quickest way to get a new media file added to a nas recognized by lmce? I know the update media daemon is running all the time, but 20 minutes after adding a new file to my nas it still was not picked up by lmce.
And before I try, I saw a post from awhile back stating that getting cover art from Amazon is broken. Is that still the case?
Thanks
Have you seen this: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/AVWizard? In the section "What to do if A/V Wizard does not start" it basically says to press buttons 1-5 waiting to see if the screen shows up. I don't think the buttons are labeled correctly on that page though.
Which videocard do you have?
You know that LinuxMCE is very picky with the choice of videocards.
Nvidia models work best, where newer is better.
This is where your choices start getting furry. If you want true surround sound out of these PC's you really need something that is at least 4.1 capable, and better yet with an optical output on it. Depending on your computer selection almost any surround sound system will work. The only requirement is that your receiver have an input that will correspond with an output from your computer. If your computer has a coaxial S/PDIF jack then your receiver should have one too. A standard headphone jack on any computer can be converted into 2 RCA audio ports. Some motherboards allow up to 10 channels out in this manner on their motherboard. Of your selections the First is only capable of stero as far as I can tell. The second looks like it can do 6 channel, and the last is probably the best at possibly 8 channels. The MSI (last option) also does not remap the ports using a driver, which will make it more likely to work in a linux environment without the availability of a separate driver option. I am looking into pricing a Media Director with the whole package, but it is proving time consuming. I will post when I come up with something to be reviewed by the masses.
So the core provides the central configuration database for the whole house, Internet access and firewalling for the whole house, the house "PABX", the security centre functionality and coordinates the media streams around the house that allow you to move a stream from one MD to another. But the individual tasks like playing a specific piece of media in a particular room is all MD, so they are in no sense "dumb", even if they are in a sense "slaves" to the core and bereft of HDDs (normally)!
Actually, if it is there, and formatted/partitioned correctly the MD OS will use it as a swap. Theoretically this should improve the performance of the MD, but probably only slightly and only if you have very little RAM in it!
Yes, a DVD drive has no connection with the HDD. Either on a core, hybrid or MD. If you have a DVD drive then you can use it for that or even any other MD. You will still, of course, need a HDD for your core/hybrid to put LinuxMCE on, just not for any other MDs. But that doesn't impact your DVD players.
For instance, you can have a Hybrid (Core + MD) in your entertainment centre, which has a system HDD and a DVD player. Then have any number of MDs around the house, all with neither HDD nor DVD player. And still play DVDs on any MD/Hybrid around the house. (to play a DVD on an MD, you pop the DVD in the Hybrid in your entertainment centre, then go to the remote MD and select it for play)
