What about how to use LinuxMCE instead of Windows MCE?
Can I use LinuxMCE as an alternative to WindowsMCE?
Rule #1 - Be Patient - Rule #2 - Don't ask when, if you don't contribute - Rule #3 - You have coding skills - LinuxMCE's small brother is available: http://www.agocontrol.com

Quote from: tschak909 on January 29, 2009, 10:06:14 PMI'm sorry that I misunderstood what LinuxMCE is, I thought is was an alternative t Windows MCE...
I think the language is appropriate for someone who is acting like a child.
Secondly, This system is a smart home platform. The Media Center functionality is only 20% of the entire system. We have a much larger functional scope, and very few people who work on it on a schedule approaching full time.
The system is very custom, and tightly integrated. Just because something works in Fedora, does not mean it works here, we have a vastly different plumbing structure underneath.
We DO NOT appreciate whiny users who seem to think that they are ENTITLED to features, and that if they are not there, then, gee, we aren't doing our work. If you want the feature, then it needs to be written, either by you, or by someone else. If you can't do it, then perhaps you can pay someone else to implement it, or.....
....heaven forbid.....
possibly exercise some patience?
and yes, the language, you asked for it.

Linhardt, please understand, that this system has a specific purpose.
The Core machine is meant to be a primary server for the entire house, as such, double displays is not a priority, and will never be.
Also, any media directors, will only have a single display as well.. again, double displays not a priority.
If you want dual displays, either:
(a) wait
(b) send us a patch.
(c) shut the fuck up.

Quote from: tkmedia on January 29, 2009, 09:32:30 PMI do not have a patch and I don't need one. What I'm saying is that when the A/V-Wizzard starts there is no way to change display card even if you have more than one, but when you start Xorg in fedora I see all my cards... Why?Quote from: lindhardt on January 29, 2009, 09:28:42 PM
I still don't know what the problem is, what you say may soulve the issue, but I'm using fedora with Gnome/Xorg and it has no problems detecting mulitiple display cards... I think that mce should support choosing display card...
We gladly accept patches.
Quote from: tkmedia on January 29, 2009, 09:20:42 PMYou just get your act together... I don't care about about compatible hardware....... The idea about Linux is that it should be for everyone if you need to buy expensive hardware you can just as well buy Windown MCE..... Fu...er
Get compatible Hardware thats what you could do.
Or struggle with drivers
You should disable on board video
then look here
