These are pretty much plug-n-play and are really very good value indeed.

when you say 'pretty much' plug-n-play, what do you mean by pretty much?

-edit-

And thank you to all of you for the suggestions.

I showed a friend my home security setup and they would like a similar one for their business.  Does anyone have any suggestions on any inexpensive cameras to use on a budget?(friend wants to keep it under $4000)

they want around 4 outdoor cameras and 2 indoor cameras.

-edit-
they have a wireless router so ideally I would use wireless ip cameras, but the outdoor variety are few and far between with high price tags to boot, but I should also be able to wire them.

LinuxMCE works best with IP cameras, I use the Panasonic BL-C111A and its sister variants.

I am new to the whole forum thing, as this is my first post, but what I was wondering was if there were any good cameras to use for home surveillance or where to look for such items with decent reviews (I am also new to the searching the web for products too).
