Would you be able to help on how you got into asterisk -r?

I am getting an error message:

Thanks. I will try to do that. However, would you be able to point me to the right direction. I have been trying to locate all *.conf f Asterisk and seems that I could not find them at all. Or do they actually exists?

I have tried accessing /etc/asterisk directory, even with sudo but to no avail. Are there any special instruction that I should know of?

I am assuming that somehow the integration (or my installation) of LinuxMCE has a problem.

However, I can create extensions, make a call. I even had LinuxMCE Asterisk registered into my existing Asterisk installation. Thus, I am pretty sure that my installation was successful.

Any idea??

use the web admin to modify your asterisk configuration. Look under Advanced > Phone Setup. This will get you to the FreePBX panel.

Thanks. But I would like to manually edit extensions.conf or even extensions_additional.conf. I have been using Asterisk/FreePBX, TrixBox/FreePBX, PBX in a Flash for several years and have some "personalized" tweaks on the system. Definitely, FreePBX will not be able to do it.

I have already checked FreePBX in LinuxMCE web admin and obviously, it is has a limited capabilty compared to a fullblown asterisk.

For example, before executing dialparties.agi, I have inserted an exten,xxx,background(some voiceover - like "one moment please, I am connecting your call"). etc...

I understand also that it may be overwritten, if upgrade is being done, but would like to explore and see if I can make the necessary changes.

Currently, LinuxMCE has some limited asterisk capability but, overall a very good product.

This thread detailed on how I installed the tv tuner. My DVD, music, all worked properly, except MythTV Live TV. Thus, Intel HDA  is working perfectly but not in Live TV.

I also have found these sites, but cannot help my "sound" problem.  Having a fuzzy TV reception at this time is fine, as I am planning to change my TV tuner. But for the spdif,  I need to make it work since my amp is connected via spdif coax.

You could try blacklisting the module in

Code Select Expand

/etc/modules.d/blacklist

Edit that file and add the cx88_alsa in there, reboot and see what happens.
This will prevent kubuntu form loading that particular module.

Thanks, the above did not load cx88_alsa. However, my problem of no sound ONLY in MythTV Live TV exists. My DVD, CD, music, and other sounds are doing all ok...but MYTHTV Live TV.

Hopefully someone can help...I have tried everything -- but all the suggestions from these sites were not successful for me.

Appreciate if you can help advise on how to stopping loading cx88_alsa...this module has a lot of conflict and suspecting causing my MythTV to not use the spdif.

Configuring the sound card
For some reason, MythTV does not default to using the ALSA sound system. So, I had to edit the settings.pro file in the mythtv directory to uncomment the following lines:
   CONFIG += using_alsa
   ALSA_LIBS = -lasound
---------------
This may solve my problem of not having sound in MythTV Live TV.

What's so confusing is that cx88_also still keeps appearing. I think this is very related so my MythTV sound problem since it is trying to use cx88_alsa -- but I want my MythTV to use HDA-Intel.

After doing a lengthy troubleshooting for my TV tuner to be recognized by LinuxMce/MythTV

the problem that I am currently encountering are the following:
1. Live TV is fuzzy - but still can see the show.  (To isolate the problem, since I am thinking it might be my cable provider's issue, I booted my system using Windows Vista MCE - that is same hardware, and Live TV in Vista is very very clear). Thus, I am still having problem with the driver.

Is there any other setup I need to do? I did some change in MythTVbackend and Mythtvfrontend.

2. I have no sound on Live TV...Other features of Linux MCE like watching DVD, music do have sound.

Yup, I only have 1 tuner at this point in time.

My Linuxmce already recognized my tv tuner. I setup in MythTVbackend Analogue V4l tuner and, video0 (in my case). I was able to scan all the channels.  However, if I am in Linux MCE, and selecting TV -- it will just be a blank screen, and after few seconds, it will just go back to the main Linux mce screen.

Any idea why?
