Hi, been investigating media centers. Have borrowed an VistaMCE from PCworld - but find that its 10' interface does not work for analog video capture nor can I find a way to control the on/setup of my old projection TV.

Could someone explain, how much can be done with the LinuxMCE 10' interface, in particular will it be able to do analog video capture (and editing?).

Could you also confirm that configuring the ir blasters is straight forward.

yes it was vga and setup was primarily as a pc

Hi Pigdog, i don't think its to do with the graphics card (don't have dvi) as it does'nt stay blank - it reverts to the login screen again

Hi, wanted to have a try of LinuxMCE, so installed Kubunto 7.1.0. as a dual boot partition on an XP system. Invoked the LinuxMCE installer using the CD's - took a few hours but it eventually said failed to load MySQL server - which I have learned is due to a bad mirror.

tried again today but will not let me past the login screen - it accepts the password, but just get a blank screen after a 20-30 seconds the login screen reappears.

Please could you give me some ideas to try to fix the problem as I don't want to do the whole install thing again
