I've been wondering--is this project still alive? no news, no messages for quite a while now...

Installation issues / Re: no sound in firefox
April 02, 2018, 12:14:29 PM
I installed firefox 60 beta. this one doesn't complain about pulseaudio not working, but doesn't play any sound either.
I also found this one: http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=13618.msg99150#msg99150 but I'm not sure if this is applicable.
need to look into it further

you assume correctly. I have made sure I am completely up-to date before posting here.
Firefox is still in version 59- it states that those problems would be gone with version 60, but that is not yet out.

When I try to watch youtube or amazon prime video, I get no sound at all...Firefox suggests I need pulseaudio running.
Can you guys help me out with this?

Installation issues / Re: TFTPD Error - PXE Boot failed
February 26, 2018, 03:30:13 PM
lets try it step by step. What Version are you running? What is the error you are receiving? Is your system up to date?
I remember having had tftpd Errors before, but those were related to a sizelimit for the bootimage in the previously used tftpd server

Installation issues / Re: VPN
February 25, 2018, 01:11:34 PM
I found part of my error- keepin the VPN in the Fritzbox enabled of course blocks the ports I wanted to forward- stupid me.
Now I forwarded udp Port 500 and 4500 to the core and I can see something happening in tcpdump
tailing /var/log/auth.log finally throws this one:
Quote
Feb 25 13:06:53 dcerouter pluto[2714]: ERROR: asynchronous network error report on eth0 (sport=4500) for message to 109.41.128.19 port 32732, complainant 109.41.128.19: Connection refused [errno 111, origin ICMP type 3 code 3 (not authenticated)]
does anyone has a suggestion for me?

If I remember correctly there is a bug listed in github concering the webfrontend for the Firewall. So far I can't tell when this will be fixed...it's been very quiet in the Forums here. I guess this is due of the actual developer Team being very small and very busy.

Installation issues / Re: Samba shares and updatemedia

Thanks for the advice...I tried, but it didn't really help so far...maybe I need to do some more digging. I also found out that it seems to have "forgotten" a lot of my audio files, for they were not in the database and they were not new either.

Installation issues / Re: VPN

Currently I can establish a vpn connection via my router, but i can only access the core if its firewall is disabled...which is not what i like to do. So i would need proper rules

Installation issues / VPN
February 17, 2018, 01:25:28 PM
I am trying to establish a vpn tunnel to my cell. I have tried following the wiki about this but so far I have been unsuccesful.
Do I need to add firewall rules on the core?
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks.

I had a little chat yesterday with Tschak and he asked me to get an output from gdb for that and create a ticket.

Installation issues / Samba shares and updatemedia
February 16, 2018, 07:12:49 PM
Both have suddenly stopped working. Today I had to reboot my server and since then I am unable to access the fileshares from my windowsbox. it always asks for my credentials. The samba logs say that it found a misconfigured server role and exits

While checking around I also saw that updatemedia is producing a segfault. there seems to be an error in libstdc++.6.0.19

my update: the issue with no Content showing is solved, if I have the Orbiter first in portrait-mode. Then Content ist visible, turning it then to landscape it even Shows covers, but only in this Fashion.
I am also not able to do power off/ restart from qorbiter- works in the windows-Orbiter.
