ivanp, there is a reason I deliberately support specific microphones...

If you just try to plug in a typical mic, you will have echo cancellation problems.

Period.

The USB microphones I am adding support for have a phase cancellation loop where the microphone is closely coupled to its own sound card, where a speaker is connected, so that anything being spoken can be phase cancelled...

So, go ahead, bang your head against the wall, or listen to me. :)

Thom besides the Solo microphone what else is supported. I have tried every on-line store that I can find and they either don't ship to South Africa or the charges are unreal. What about a logitech clearchat wireless ?
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/webcam_communications/internet_headsets_phones/devices/4226&cl=us,en

it is detected by linuxmce 8.10 , what would i need to do to get it working ? is there some template i can create , copy ?

thanks

I have setup my hybrid so many times now I have lost count . I have gone though the setup of mythtv and have configured my cards.

I can connect to the backend from any mythtv-frontend on a seperate system. Currently ubuntu gutsy on my laptop and what the feed from both my pvr-150 and pvr-350 all is wel. But I CANNOT watch tv inside linuxmce. i just get a black screen and then a mesage sying that myth is having problems , can I reset the backend. I just say no and escape.

How is it that the server can be working and the frontend not in a supposedly stable product. I am using 7.04 since 7.10b3 was a waste of time in terms of stability. Surely something as fundamental as playing the tv feed should work

.. I am assuming that if you tried to connect to the myth server from a separate machine it would work straight away. I believe it must be something in the frontend that is broken.
